I was flipping through the tv channels and noticed that my mind translated the channel DFH (Discovery Fit and Health) as Dog Fish Head. I even started wondering when they got their own channel. Is there hope for me or I am a hopeless beer geek?

Hopeless, yes but it's all good. It's an awesome ride to be on! I think all of us can agree that beer is an integral part of our lives now! I mean throughout the day I contemplate what I'm going to open that evening. I hope I'm not alone there because if no one else confirms they do the same I might have a problem? Oh well who gives a shit! I'll take this problem any day!

I dont have the time to think about that, because if I do, my students will probably kill each other (or something else equally bad). I do plan weekends around football, baseball, and beer in that order.

I dont plan vacations around beer, but I do look up breweries, bars, and stores in the area of where Im going.

It's hopeless. I reached into the medicine cabinet recently and misread this bottle as IBU-Profin

Agree I'm not completely obsessed with beer but I do think about my cellar from time to time during the day and consider what will be sacrificed. I have a family so of course the vacations are all about them. No beer vacations but wherever we do go I check out a local shop to see if there is anything I can't get at home worth picking up. If time allows of course.

I still cant justify taking a vacation JUST for beer. it would be cool, but I just cant do it.

For my job I do customer support for stores all around the country. As soon as someone tells me where they are from I start thinking about what breweries are there and what beer that they can get there but I can't get here.

I travel for work on a semi regular basis. Whenever they tell me where I'm going I instantly hop on Seekabrew and BA to find beers I want to bring back and a liquor store to buy them in.

Advocate or Geek it doesn't matter. And there are worse hobbies we can all have so no need to sweat it.

I too sometimes when it's too stressy at work, think, "Almost there, two more hours and I'll open the x beer". Also when my girlfriend plans weekends away, I search too for available stores in the area and then I try to lead us there,"by coincidence" or I show fake interest to all the shops she's checking, so I can check any bottle shops we may come across.
This thread is turning into a confession one, regarding beer.

Anytime characters in a TV show or movie are drinking a non BMC beer I always focus and look carefully to figure out what beer it is. Usually it ends up being Heisler or some other fictional beer haha

I do the exact same thing! I often wish there was someone to talk to about the dilemma while it's going through my head, but oh well, I usually figure it out in about 5 seconds or less... It truly is a fun ride!

I'm pretty sure that the fact that I am responding to this very question at 9:51 pm EST on a saturday night answers that question pretty easily.

I don't travel much at all for work, but I will be next week going to Grand Rapids. I'm there for just ONE night, and not even a whole day, and I'm already trying to figure out how to bring some goods back home!
