Just past Stoweflake on the Mountain Road. Great, great location. Roughly one year away.

Now Stowe and Waterbury can share equal billing as beer destinations - nice.

Should do wonders for the Crop. Great food, fairly decent beer selection.

I'm happy the Kimmiches found a good location, but incredibly disappointed that Waterbury let them walk away.

We're in the middle of "Revitalizing Waterbury" and we let a world-class brewery pull up stakes for the next town over? Very lame that Waterbury/Waterbury Center was not more accommodating.

I understand your sentiments and I do not mean to come across as nit picky... but for the record, they aren't pulling up stakes entirely. At least the way I read the release, it seemed that the existing cannery will still be the production brewery for Heady while the new facility will be where other Alchemist beers are brewed, retail space, etc...

Except that people will be driving to Stowe to buy their Heady (for the most part), which means that more people will stay/eat in Stowe that would have done so in Waterbury. Not all will, maybe not even most, but some will.

Good point. And I agree completely. Hopefully "most" will return to Waterbury to enjoy the copious establishments that serve fantastic food and drink. And spend the night....

Waterbury gets way more beer-specific traffic than Stowe presently - this will even it up nicely. And I totally get wanting to have your office only 4 miles from home/kid's school. I can walk to work and I love it - especially when the driving is nasty! The state broke ground on re-building the State Office Complex in Waterbury yesterday that's been closed since Irene, so that 1,000 state employees that used to spend all kinds of money daily in Waterbury will be returning soon, to their distinct relief.

I wouldn't worry about a lack of breweries in Waterbury...
