How much of the beer consumed here is utter garbage though?
No problem with driving to Hudson, you have. That is the reason.
Deschutes would do great with me, as it is right now I drive across the border to pick up a different 6's of theirs. I am sure I would pick up a lot more if it were avaliable at my normal store. Just like NG, all of the regular beer they make are just outstanding which is what I really want from a good brewert. I do not want average 6 packs and then once a year a great release.
That's the market to be carved out from. Isn't sales of shite beer falling while craft is increasing?
I will be posting more on this soon, but I was at a tasting yesterday, and talked with the distributor and the northern Illinois also will be getting this,I am finding out the details from my bottle shop (Everetts) Who where, and when.... Rockford,South Beloit for sure
I hope this happens sooner than later. I have only had Speedway Stout once, but it gave me a boner.
Is it finally offical? Is alesmith on shelves in Wisconsin now?
I haven't seen it..
Nothing official yet at all.
Wisconsin went from New Glarus and Oskar Blues hauls to New Glarus and Ale Smith if this comes true. I still have a few bombers I bought awhile back of Ale Smith, but I really want as much Numbskull to age as possible. After trying it fresh it tasted like it would be amazing aged a year or two.
And who doesnt love them some Speedway or Wee Heavy?
I asked Star Liquor in Madison to check into it:
"Word from the distributor is "sometime soon". I'm on it whenever "soon" arrives."
Any sightings yet?
I get an updated list from beechwood every week, was praying I would see alesmith on it. Odd that Green Flash made it first....I wonder what the hold up is?
According to a comment on Alesmith's FB page, the paperwork has been signed and approved. Should finally be happening soon...
" the deal is inked and we have state approval. AleSmith to WI soon! Abby has the details regarding exactly when and where"
Soon = Labor day according to a post in a thread about more good WI news: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/dfh-coming-back-to-wi.99129/#post-1470741
great beer.if you like this one check out the espresso stone ris it's even better
Heard from good source at distributor that target time for Alesmith is around Labor Day,which is fine because their beers aren't typically hot sticky summer types
Looks like AleSmith will be landing earlier, keep an eye out for bottles to land in early August (with a limited draft appearance)!
Huh? Stone doesn't distribute to WI. I agree that Espresso RIS is very good.
What bottles can we expect to land first?
There's one for sure that rhymes with Mead Day Bout.
That is correct, plus X, IPA, Horny Devil, Grand Cru and some others...
I hope we get one rhyming with Me Beavy.....
The launch parties will start on or about August 6. That's Great Taste Week. Hope that liver is in shape
Alesmith bottles made it to Stevens Point today. I picked up a bottle of Speedway Stout, Grand Cru, and Horny Devil. Looking forward to trying them.
whoa. wonder if this landed in GB yet.
Sounds like tomorrow in Madison: https://twitter.com/rileyswow/status/364486160690577408
I've had the pleasure of trading for most of the reg line up. I hope the Wee Heavy makes it way soon!
I heard its on the shelves in Stevens Point, going down tonight or tomorrow since I doubt anyone in Wausau would get it
You can find Alesmith at both J R Liquor and Bottle Stop.
Little late to the party, but picked up Speedway and IPA at Woodman's today. Glad to have them and hope BA Speedway makes it this way.
The odds of you seeing anything other than what is on the shelf now (outside of yulesmith and decadence) are roughly 0%. Seeing BA Speedway is slightly below 0%
Wow, buzz kill . . .
Please tell me Old Numbskull is gonna make it to WI! I will gladly make the trip every other month or so to stock up on it!
Oak Creek. They've got it set aside on its own shelf.
Just had my first speedway stout and all I have to say is I will single handedly support this brewery in WI if I have to just so I can keep buying this beer. Look forward to trying more of their beers.
Don't forget- they might bring it over here on draft. They did bring the very first keg of Speedway variant to leave San Diego over here.
Went to the Alesmith Launch at B+B last night in Windlake. 6 different bombers,Abby is a wonderful Company Rep,beers were all fresh and delicious, and surprisingly great prices. The Speedway was spectacular. I told Abby I hoped that Wisconsin would continue to get fresh product, she assured me that they would never reroute older beer to our state. And yes, small allotments of the barrel aged brews would find their way here
Music to my ears
