How much did you pay and where did you get it from?

Has anyone tried Coco Lime Time? Worth getting cans?

Saw plenty of it left on the shelves. Owner said only sold about 9 cans. I also passed on it because Alvarado Street never lasts until closing, so people are not buying it and I am curious as to why.

But want to know if anyone has tried it and if it was worth it.

Tastes just as fantastic as the first batch IMO.

I may have just cracked open my third can already.

I'm out of town, but considering the weirdness of the description, the fact it's at over a 4 on untapped with over a 300 ratings means I'll likely buy a single next week just to check it out.

Meh. Having Nelson Slayer on tap at House of Pizza. Boozy mess. Glad I knew better than to seek out 4-packs.

dammit, well I'm glad I had some self control and only grabbed 2 cans just now instead of 4. Although I'll withhold judgement until I've actually tried it.

I thought that Nelson Slayer was quite nice. A bit more subdued than Nelson Baby, but still very enjoyable. Then again, I tend to like Alvarado Street recent releases.

ugh, yeah, not liking this Nelson Slayer at all. "Boozy mess" is a perfect description. Straight super sweet diesel burn. No nelson characteristics, at least that I enjoy, to be found at all.

I actually think the only beers that I've had over the last 2 to 3 years that actually have flavors reminding me of the great OG nelson are the Mount Nelson beers. Maybe Hop Slangin too. There could be others I just don't remember, but it seems Cellarmaker comes closer to brewing my favorite IPA than other places.

Can't believe what some of the bars/taprooms are charging for a single can of Nelson Slayer... Beer Rev is charging $9 (plus tax) per can. smh.

While I didn't love Nelson Slayer, i didn't find it overly boozy and definitely got some Nelson attributes. But nothing like Nelson Baby!

holy shit, I thought the $8 I paid was bad. Nice to know beer in SD isn't as stupid expensive as I thought.

Wow . . . why is no one talking about the Other Half collaboration dropping this week? Slice Joint remains my favorite collab, by any two breweries, of all time. Extra lucky is the fact that I'm actually going to be in NorCal at the end of the week, with good access (I hope). Can hardly wait to buy as much as possible.

I did see that, and Cellarmaker releasing an OH collab as well on Tuesday. I am just not the biggest Other Half fan, as their beers get a little sweet/boozy for me. Plus I am a little burnt out on high ABV beer right now, so DIPAs and Imperial Stouts are appealing to me less and less. I will probably grab a single of the ASB/OH and split a 4 Pack of the CM/OH release though just to try them out.

I did put Nelson Slayer and Nelson Baby side by side over the weekend in Tahoe, and definitely liked them both a lot. Not getting the booziness others have commented on with Slayer, but it still doesn't reach the level of Baby.

Yup, saw that on the instagram page last night. Can't wait.

Slice joint was excellent, but I'd say Partyings Tight (Humble Sea) was just as good.

Still going through my older ASB stock. Finally got to the last batch of Wave Jammer. I may be the outlier, but I thought it was pretty good.

The collab is pretty good imo. From the can, there's a lot of Nelson on the nose, while the taste is more balanced between all three hops. Not as sweet as the Nelson Slayer (though I didn't think the Nelson Slayer was terrible tbh). Mouthfeel is on point, obviously. Curious about what everyone else thinks of this release.

Oh, I only wish, but I don't have access to that. I pick up ASB at my small semi-secret spot in Modesto, and we aren't getting any.

Some small chance I can make it to the Saturday release in Salinas, as I'll be in San Jose the night before.

I don't know if I want to commit to a 4 Pack, so I'd have to go to my secondary spot that sells singles, but is a little farther away and with shitty parking, so I am feeling lazy LOL
I do want to try the revamped Amigos though to see how they tweaked the recipe to lessen the burn/bite.

So lucky a coworker driving down to SoCal picked me up a pack of Nelson Slayer in Salinas - I find this incredible and nearly over-the-top in Nelson aroma & taste. A slight step behind Nelson Baby! in body and creamy feel, but man this stuff is still all dank Nelson goodness.

They had plenty of cans left at Berkeley Bowl West when I was there around 4:30PM today. For what it's worth this iteration of Amigos is straight fire (that's what the kids say, right?)!

I was impressed by this one! It's a single, but it almost drinks like a double with its depth and softness on the palate...classic ASB aromatics, but no huge hop burn/bite at the end on the finish. Good stuff!

I went to my spot to get a 4 pack of Amigos, and it turns out they had two Nelson Baby left. You save $2 per can by making it a mixed 4 pack, so my brain thought, "I'll add 2 Wholesome Jams that will cost me $12 more, but I'll save $4 on the 2 Nelson, Baby. This makes sense, self." :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, hard to argue that Wholesome isn't a dank AF, solid DIPA. So I'm glad it worked out this way lol

Wholesome Jams is tasting really good. Also picked up Amigos IPA and will have that one later tonight; I was reluctant, but all the news so far is that it is also really good.

Wholesome Jams was moving very quickly though. Almost sold out when I picked up.

Wanna give a shout out to this recent batch of Countach that I had last night. Just as excellent as the last batch.

I have one can each of Nelson Baby and Nelson Slayer so I think I wanna put them up against each other maybe tomorrow night. I'd do it tonight but I have that MT/Holy Mountain collab as well as Juice Williams in the fridge so I feel like I need to prioritize those first. Good problem to have I guess.

Just chiming in on this new batch of Amigos I'm drinking to now - yes it's very good, I'd say it's a noticeable improvement in feel for sure over the last batch. Really glad I picked a pack up along with the WJ.

I just finished a can, and I concur that whatever they did to eliminate the hop burn/bite completely worked. Amigos and WJ are crazy smooth.

Might want to do it with a WJ can in the lineup as well, I know there are other hops in there but man this is an incredible Nelson-featured hazy as well.
