I am of the opinion that both Victory and Weyerbacher brew high quality Tripels.
As regards Quads I enjoy drinking Ommegang Three Philosophers. I used to buy Weyerbacher Quad (do they still produce this beer?) and I thought it was good (very good factoring the more economical price).

    Needless to say but YMMV.

    Cheers!

I think the Weyerbacher Quad was called the Merry Monks, haven’t seen in in NJ for a few years.

Merry Monks is their Tripel which IMO is very good.

I have one bottle of Weyerbacher Quad left (in my fridge) and that bottle is from 2013. Maybe I should drink this beer this evening since it has been 'properly' aged by now.

    Cheers!

I have enjoyed many great beers that are not on that list. Whatever....?

It is the only beer I get muled from Atlanta now. I only have 4 in my fridge now, so going to have to be a special occasion to drink them now that my pipeline has dried up :slight_frown:

I've had 27 of these beers and I will objectively state that Side Project's Fuzzy is the best beer of those 27.

That said, there's no way Fundamental Observation should be on any list of beers (maybe this should be my "controversial" take). I had this at the SDBW VIP fest and I took two sips and dumped it. Possibly the worst beer I've ever had that's not named Watermelon El Dorado.

It is my understanding that Ned Flanders is up to 35 beers so hopefully this list will be out shortly.

    Cheers!

Sorry about the tardiness of my reply.

The main problem with bottle conditioned and cans likewise is the extra cost puts off mainstream brewers making the majority of these microbreweries that can command a higher price tag being sold in indie bottle shops, effectively the craft beer scene in the U.K. has done far more for off premises sales of Real Ale than any Real ale venture. A lot of can conditioned beers aren’t labelled as such.
So getting examples of these in the states is going to be far from easy.

Also, Marston’s Pedigree claims to be bottle conditioned but they just add tiny amounts of dead yeast to a dead beer, it’s like tying a kite to a canoe and calling it an aircraft carrier.

The easiest available decent bottle conditioned UK beers are Greene King/Morland’s Hen’s Tooth Shepherd Neame 1698 both still thoroughly decent English strong ales despite being in the stable of bigger brewers. Also on wide distribution are St. Austell Proper Job & Big Job but with them being US IPA & DIPA, respectively, with slightly lower abv I’m not sure if they are worth mentioning.
Secondary conditioning is so important to me that with not being able to go drink cask & nothing close by bottle conditioned that I pretty much gave up on beer drinking till Sierra Nevada Pale Ale made it onto our Supermarket shelves.

I’ll give this matter further thought & investigation though,
    Cheers!

And I personally support you here. My personal solution to this 'problem' is that every year I homebrew a batch of bottle conditioned Bitter Ale. My latest batch was bottled last month (June). I use Fawcett floor malted Maris Otter Pale Malt as my base malt, generously hop with East Kent Goldings hops and I use the Timothy Taylor yeast strain (Wyeast 1468). I use a modest amount of priming sugar to mimic the carbonation level of cask dispense. For my palate the bottle conditioning process produce a pleasant, smooth mouthfeel to this beer.

    Cheers!

Sounds really good, I’d put in a good measure of Fuggles in too, IMHO.

Fuggles comes off too earthy/woody for my personal palate; I am not a fan.

I certainly would not discourage you from using this hop in your homebrewing. Different strokes for different folks.

    Cheers!

Haha that's definitely controversial out west. I've never had any BL beers and don't seek them out because everything sounds entirely too sweet for my tastes, but there is a looooot of love for that beer going on.

Thank you so much for that phrase

My Red Wings buddy and i trekked over from Phoenix for a SoCal road trip in January 2016 when the Wings were in the region. We went to the BL tap room ahead of the Ducks game as it had a good reputation on BA. We had a good time as the room was pretty packed on a Sunday NFL playoff afternoon. The standard beers were good but the most memorable part of that day was the Vikings kicker shanking a gimme at the end of the SeaSquawks game.
BL has been distributing to select bottle upper end bottle shops in the greater PHX area for around a year or so. BL's MO seems to be they make the bottle shop carry multiple BL taps (that sometime linger for months on a tap list) for the privilege of selling all of the FO variants and other high gravity beers. I basically stopped being a BL fan when i saw it was $25 or so for a pint....not sure if that is the wholesale cost driving the retail price so at that point i decided never to be a FO fanboy as there is waaaaaay to many good BA stouts on the market these days.
