Fargo Woodchipper....I had this on tap way back when and thought it was quite good but then had it from the bottle when it was contract brewed and it was not good at all...off..

Now they are brewing right in Fargo and canning so while out in western MN I decided to pick up a sixer...

This is an excellent IPA...Juicy, and fruity with a nice malt backing...I'm dying to put this in a blind taster.....color is more orange/amberish which may make it identifiable in a blind taster but I think this is a heck of beer...really a great drinker....6.7% but drinks like a full flavored pale ale....not the most bitter IPA on the block but I'd rather have the flavor and malt balance.....seek this one out....it is really, really good....probably better than my latest new find Bent Paddle..

According to their website they use these hops....
    • Cascade
    • Centennial
    • Chinook
    • Horizon
    • Simco
    And these malts....

    • Carastan
    • Munich
    • NW Pale Ale
    • Oats

Sounds amazing. I think oats do wonderful things to hoppy beers. Hope they send some down to the TC.

Speaking of oats, Grinch's Grog (on at Town Hall right now) uses them. Love those Simcoes.

Woodchipper isn't bad but doesn't stand out in this market either. If I lived in Fargo, I'd drink it all the time. Heard they have been doing alot of weekly small batch beers for their taproom.

Have you had it in cans from the Fargo Brewery? Not the contract brewed crap in bottles but the fresh cans made in Fargo?

Fargo Brewing is making some really great beer! They won't be doing crazy high ABV beers, or super aggressive tongue melting bruisers, but what they do/will make will be outstanding.
