This one is definitely a beginner's ba stout...very light on the bourbon and very thin, unaggressively flavored stout. Tried 2 bombers and left both feeling the same way...make a double version of this stout and double the barrel aging time and they could possibly have a winner here. As it stands now...it's a very "meh" ba stout.

I think you would enjoy it then. Anderson Valley makes some solid brews. Barney Flatts is one my favorite stouts, so balanced and drinkable...it's actually on sale my local market, methinks I'ma pik-a-pak up after work.

I'm usually more impressed with barrel aging on lower abv beers [when it's done right]. It seems like almost every brewer has an 8-15% ABV stout aged on bourbon barrels now...yawn.

It's an okay beer. It's way thinner than I'd care for, but I can appreciate the lower ABV, and the nice flavor it holds. Works well when I want a nice dark beer, BBA, and don't feel like taking it over board after a few.

Hmm...that's unfortunate. Guess I'll take mine to a gathering and blow some bmc mind while I drink Topper and Prairie.

Drank half the bottle, was not impressed, capped it and put the rest back in the fridge. Much better the next night. Less carbonation, much smoother.

It was ok. I definitely appreciated the availability of a low ABV bbal stout, but the body was a little too thin.

When I tried it (on tap) it seemed like the Wild Turkey expressed itself a great deal in the aroma but not nearly as much in the flavor. As someone who doesn't particularly care for the taste of hard liquor, this suited me just fine.

I had Ballast Point Black Marlin Barrel Aged and I honestly liked it better, so you never know.

I don't think the thinness can be overstated. It was really off-putting. I had this on draft, and the Turkey was diluted to the point where I almost wanted to drop a shot into my glass.

    Wild Turkey-Wild Turkey Stout Bombs?
