Has anybody had any beers from Pivovar Kout na Šumavě? The brewery is in the western Czech Republic very near the German border.

Evan Rail (a beer writer who really knows his stuff) stated this brewery has the “best pale lagers in the country if not the world”. Start watching at 11:24 of the embedded video.

Chuchkey had a tapping of their Koutska brews here in DC once... I had two of them, they were real solid.

    Kout beers are very good.
There was a pub in Prague called U SLovanske Lipy that sold Kout beers, but I think they closed down. A shame, it was a great boozer.
You should be able to find Kout in a couple of places in Prague, if you hunt around.

U slovansky lipy is still open in Zizkov Prague and it and Kout are both fantastic. Pivni Senk also sells Kout. occasionally Pivoteka in Podebrady has it also.

Their desitka is the best pale light lager i have had
