I am gonna be in town next weekend and am looking to explore a bit. I might try and make it to the Nebraska BrewCo, but am open to other ideas or possibly, IP trades for NY distributed beers.

I can give you a lot more options for the Omaha area, but there are good things going on in Lincoln too. Yiayias pizza, jake's cigars, lazlo's (empyrean), and Misty's (modern monks) come to mind first. I am sure there are others. I have never been to a bottleshop in Lincoln (Beertopia in Omaha does the trick for me) though i know there are a couple of good ones, so I will let others chime in. If you make it to Nebraska Brewing then you are essentially in Omaha and there are plenty of great options to be had. As well as in-person traders (me).

Also an Omaha native, and while you're in town you should really check out Krug Park up in the Benson area. They have one of the best selections on tap you'll find in NE, and their bottle selection isn't bad either. Beertopia is definitely the bottle shop of choice.

I too can provide more Omaha insight than Lincoln, but N Street Drive-In http://nstreetdrivein.com/ (18th & O Street) and The Still http://www.thestill.com/ (70th & Hwy 2) are two good bottle shops that quickly come to mind. Yia yias pizza & Jakes both sell bottles to go.

Those were the two that came to my mind, but like I said, I've never actually bought packaged beer in Lincoln.

you guys hit most of the places i go to - jakes is definitely your best bet for taps, altho it is a cigar bar so you will reek of smoke if that is an issue for you. yia yia's has nice stuff on tap and good pizza, altho it is a bit more pricey. they have the best bottled selection in town by a good margin. lazlo's and misty's have the 2 main locals right now, empyrean and modern monks, i prefer modern monks beer but prefer lazlo's food, altho many would call misty's a staple...also maybe of mention is bread & cup in the haymarket which i have had super hit or miss experiences with, it's more food focused but generally has nice local taps and some good belgians, as well as maybe doc's in the haymarket which the last time i was there had goose island matilda, boulevard tank 7 and the boulevard/pretty things stingo on tap. i also think docs has a slower turnaround on good beer as it does not attract as much of the beer geek crowd, which can be a good or bad thing - my favorite thing to get there is cuvee rene which is not a bad markup at $15/750ml and these things seem to be old - they are way funkier/sour than any other ones i've gotten my hands on.

beer stores in lincoln - the aforementioned still is pretty good and likely the overall biggest selection, maybe slightly overpriced. the hyvee in williamsburg has a fantastic selection, and other hyvees in town sometimes have a slow turnaround which again can be a good thing - i have found some OLD bottles of long gone things at other ones, the 70th/pioneers hyvee still has 750 c&c bottles of boulevards saison that hasn't been brewed in a couple of years. best gem is moran's liquor on 33rd/a - small store, not a big selection but good stuff and the best prices in town.

Thanks for all the help! I ha a great time and tried Boulevard Stingo(meh) and Nebraska BrewCo Sabradaffa Saison(great) at Yia Yia's pizza. I picked up some Tallgrass 8-bit and Buffalo Sweat, Odell's Myrcenary, Saison Brett, and some other stuff. If you are looking to start a trading relationship with a NYC trader hit me up. I am always lookin for fresh Myrcenary, New Belgium Cocoa Mole and other bombers of theirs, and Boulevard offerings. We get some really nice distribution out here.

    Cheers!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the area, I can't imagine not having Boulevard available to me. Have you tried Tank 7?
