Has anybody traded for CFH'12 lately? What did it take?

I posted up an ISO full of beers figuring some combination would get a bite but nothing - all i heard were crickets!

    Whatever the OP offers for a Churchill's I'll offer that +3. o_O

We really ought to just fly out for the next release.

I traded one of my bottles away for a Double Barrel Aged Zhukov. I shouldn't have done that.

Just traded mine to a great trader in MN two weeks ago

That breaks every venn diagram rule ever made. :) Still not sure what a venn diagram is but I think this qualifies...

Sometimes you got to break the rules in the pursit of a great beer such as CFH :)

Had them both at the same tasting in August and it was a landslide victory for CFH'12. Damn that beer is good.

It isn't easy. It is the only beer us SoCal folk have left after the Shelfwale Wars of 2012

Call me a liar but I traded a couple bottles of Beatification b5 for 3 bottles of CFH '12.

Ya, for one of them. And another for 3. But that was when Beatification sat at the brewery like some dusty shelf turd. And another was part of a larger trade for a 3L Consecration.

Just don't drink CFH '12 (or just about any other stout) at a tasting that you are also drinking Rare.

I traded one of my King Henrys, a '12 KtG, and an Upland Gilgamesh in return for one '12 CFH. Even now, I can't believe that's what it took to land a CFH, but it drank deliciously at my December tasting...
I'll add that this was not a trade with a regular partner, so this was the cost of landing it on the open forum. No regrets. I'd probably do the same trade again.

I agree. CFH will make Rare seem like a boring barrel-aged porter...:p

Oooohhhh, wait, I'm from the Midwest, I forgot myself for a moment.

Scratch that last post. Rare is nectar of the Gods, CFH is somewhere north of Idiot's Drool.

Is the blend for CFH different each year? Is the '12 especially better than previous vintages?

Yes. The blend has been different each year. The barrels used have varied between Jack Daniels and Heaven Hill. I think 2012 is the best so far. 2011 is also great. 2010 is not really drinkable due to infection from a contaminated fill head on the bottling line, unless you have a bottle that was stored at 33 degrees since release.

Rare's not all that great to me...well I mean it's not bad...it's totally delicious, but there are a plethora of better BA stouts out there. I need to get a bottle of CFH...haven't had that luxury yet

I learn my lesson from last year... you got to go after it right after the release otherwise its a huge pain in the ass to get....more and more as the year goes on. This year I was ready and snagged one for a Fou Foune a couple days after the release. Its staring at me every night... drink me...
