Didn't see any threads about this when I searched. Does anyone else collect them? Does anyone get a bit disappointed when the brewery/brewpub doesn't? If there's enough demand, I'd even like to start a list of breweries that do and don't.

    Let's hear ya, patches people!

Thanks! Guess people don't like patches that much...

I've collected patches since I was a little boy, but generally focusing on military, especially US Army. However, Lewis & Clark Brewery (Helena, MT), which my son and I visit for a growler and a cribbage game most Sunday afternoons, has two different versions, pretty cheaply. Let me know.

I've got a few myself and I'm into collecting them. I have patches from the following breweries:

    *Harpoon Brewery
    *Shipyard Brewing
    *New Belgium Brewing

I wish more breweries would do this. I'm also into collecting brewery bottle openers (keychain or household) and have amassed quite a stash of these.

I agree. I figured FFF, with the way they market themselves, would have a patch, but for some reason they don't.

    That Mystic patch is sweet.

I have about 10; I only get one if I go to the brewery or brewpub. I got one from Bell's on Eccentric Day but somehow lost it. It's just nice to know if they brewery is going to have a patch because sometimes the website doesn't list it and they do.

Is there enough demand/collectors to make a list?

There's a BA out of Alabama who goes by the nickname "unclejedi". I've met him and his wife at a number of beer festivals/special beer releases out here on the west coast several times over the past few years. They're easy to spot: they always wear long coats (denim?) which are COVERED in brewery patches. Dozens and dozens of them. I believe they got most of their patches by talking to employees of the many breweries they've visited. (Don't quote me on that, though. I'm remembering a half-heard conversation they were having with a buddy of mine. And there was beer involved.)

That's what I'm starting with a work shirt. I was able to get a Bruery patch by asking that's otherwise not available (I think). I'd like to see this coat though.

That Mystic patch is awesome. I have one from New Belgium and that's it for now. But I have a beanie that could use some love and I figure that'd be the perfect place for some patches.

I claim to be the inspiration for UncleJedI and PurpleHatJoan, but he may rebut this assertion. I am retired USN and my first couple of jackets were a mish-mosh of all sorts of patches until I realized that I was misguided in doing it piecemeal. Now, I collect a substantial number of patches (enough to at least mostly cover the jacket) and assemble it with a goal. AutumnalDave has also recently expressed interest in putting together some sort of jacket/vest/other. It's the return of the late-'60's/early-'70's, man. Welcome aboard!

They're already on jackets. Let me see if I can fire up the camera in the next couple/few days and post some pics.

Here's what I'm working with. I only grab the patch if I've been to the brewey/brewpub. I've been to more than what's on the shirt; some breweries don't have patches for sale unfortunately. And I lost the Bell's patch I bought on Eccentric Day.

Those Brooklyn patches are pretty sweet!

Like The Bruery, Lagunitas and O'Dell patches. Might have to keep an eye out for these. Would spice up my messenger bag.

I got a denim jacket for Christmas and figured I'd collect brewery patches to put on them. I'm only getting patches from breweries I personally visit, so I've only got Cigar City, Terrapin, and Highland right now. I fully intend to fill this sucker up, though.

Same here man. Good to know that those three breweries have patches. I was at Lakefront and Central Waters this past weekend and neither had them. I think there might be enough interest to start a thread with pics of who has them and who doesn't...

I'm going to put together a patches master list, so if anyone has any pictures of their patches, please BM me so I can compile something.

A subset of collections of patches from breweries current and visited is patches from breweries and brands from the past. Their are patches from nearly every brand ever made that can be found at flea mkts etc. They were first made to adorn driver uniforms but really got produced by the millions in the mid 70's as giveaways when thepatchcovered denim thing was going on. Of course, Bud and miller ones are common, a lot of regionals that rocked or tried to rock the 70's gave out a lot of patches, and they are fun to collect. My favorite is a neat Drummond Bros. beer patch produced by Falls City in KY which a friend of mine has. They were so into denim that their 12 pack can was all "denim" with the "patch" printed on it. This was 1976 or so.

I have a denim vest with patches front and back and some misc. buttons on the front. Don't have any craft breweries/brewpubs, just old stuff (for an old fart).

The oldest one is Mitchell's (El Paso, closed about 1956). I lived in El Paso from 1977 - 1991.
On the back, I have large Falls City and Old Style patches, surrounded by smaller Utica Club, Yuengling, Gibbons, Pearl, Falstaff, Christian Moerlein, Koch's (Dunkirk, NY), Point, Sterling, Anchor Steam, and Schell's 1976 Farmfest.

On the front are Hudepohl 14K, Lone Star, Mitchell's, Dixie, Heidelberg, Rolling Rock, Pearl, Hudy DeLight, A-1, Primo, Matt's Premium, Blatz, Shiner, Burger, Schmidt, Stegmaier, Burgie!, & Genesee Light.

The buttons are Marthasville Atlanta Gold, Jack Daniel's Beer?, Lone Star (National Beer of Texas), Scarlet Fever, Shiner Bock, Marthasville Sweet Georgia Brown, and Boulder (the Ugly Brew).

I will try to photo the vest sometime, soon. And I will look about for any extras.

Thanks, beeraroundtown. That list is very helpful. You wouldn't believe how many breweries do not sell patches. My work shirt looks really empty with only like 15 patches on it when I've been to so much more. They all have stickers, however.

Pizza Port extra'd me a patch as part of a glassware, beer, and pizza purchase I did there a week or so back. So they're either free or $5.

At the moment I only have 1 from lagunitas and a stone on the way. I need to purchase a bunch more so that I can send em to my sister .She is going to make me a patch quilt with a different brewery on each square. I have a Brooklyn jacket that is too small but has a huge patch on the back. I'm going to remove it and that will be the center square.
