Who knows anything about these brewers in the Philly burbs? It looks like La Cabra is a homebrewer launching a nano who does interesting stuff with brett and has made lambic and I'm pretty intrigued by what he will be offering. Armstrong is already open apparently (in Phoenixville) and looks a bit more conventional.

    Anyone know more?

Is Shipbottom putting out anything worthwhile yet? I've heard pretty mixed things about what they've done so far.

What about upcoming releases that aren't projected to be total shitstorms (not even gonna try to get to the Blue Dog but I'm hopeful of making the Pizza Boy release when it's announced). Sounds like Mackenzie will be putting out a barleywine and a stout in bottles shortly and Dock Street will have a release in a few weeks.

    What's the word y'all?

    Anyone? Nothing?

I'm surprised no one is chiming in on this yet. Surely someone is in the know around here.

La Cabra is not for sale to the public yet, at least not in the official sense.... i know that much. I hear the stuff is very good, though.

Hi! This is Dan from La Cabra Brewing. First time post actually...

I just wanted to clear up a few things before I have ATF agents storming my house! La Cabra Brewing is a brewery project in the works and not a licensed brewery. As such, I am unable to sell or distribute my beer for financial gain; I am, however, able to share it with close friends (and friends of friends) as any proud homebrewer would. I give out these samples in the hopes that you'll enjoy them, give some feedback, and keep in touch for when the brewery becomes reality.

At some point (and this can't come soon enough!) I will begin looking for committed investors who can help bring my dream to life. I look forward to the chance to make a whole lotta' delicious sours/wilds and a full line of straight American and Belgian styles. For the time being (and if your very local to Malvern, PA) send an email to [email protected] to find out how to become a friend of a friend. Like the brewery on Facebook to stay abreast of any developments. Keep drinking great beer!

Maybe Mr. Armstrong can chime in here and tell us about his FULLY LEGAL BREWERY.

Today I visited Armstrong and bought a case. I'll let you know I got a mixed case of four different kinds. The place is a little hard to find, call first for directions

Semi-interestingly enough, read the article and found this thread while looking for more information about Armstrong Ales. Now I'm eager to try something from La Cabra. Sometimes the craft beer gods can be cruel.

I've only had two of La Cabra's beers so far, and both have been top-tier sours. Can't wait for his next release

I visited Armstrong Ales on Saturday. It's located in the Scheffield Furniture complex behind French Creek Outfitters. Steve had 5 beers on tap but offers about 12 beers. I had the Raiding Rievers Scotch Ale, and it was delicious. I also sampled the Irish Stout, and it was good. I took a growler of the Stout home. $15 for a growler fill and $5 a beer. It a warehouse with a bar in it with 4 or 5 stools. Steve Armstrong (Owner) is a great guy and very knowledgeable. Drop by and give his beers a try.
