Craft Beer Cellar in Hot Springs had some Commotion dated 09/09. I passed on it. Picked up some hard work which I've enjoyed as a day drinker.

I'm heading back to Denver Thursday and would like to stop in Tulsa to grab a case of cheap Bomb. Can anyone recommend a decent liquor store near the highway in Tulsa area?

Looks like 64 and then 444. I take the toll road up from i40 then take the toll road on the west side over to i35.

I always let the beer guy know when they've got rancid hops sitting around...it's pitiful. I picked up a Joseph James Citra Rye IPA (which I love) and it was 13 months old. My main store. I was ashamed.

So these are roads around Tulsa? Sorry not seeing them on the map :slight_frown:. What is the highway you will be on when you are passing thru Tulsa, or around it.

ok the store I usually go to is Collins Mid Town Liquor, it is about 1.5 blocks off of Hwy 64 when passing thru Tulsa. They have a pretty good selection.

I grabbed some Roughtail, Ozark, Lost Forty during my trip but the real gem was Bomb 4 packs for $27. That equates to buy 3 get one free in Denver prices. I appreciate all the help and have really enjoyed watching the beer scene grow in that area over the last few years. It still has a way to go but is light years ahead of where it was just 3 short years ago. Your part of the world there is way too pretty to not have good beer and legal weed.

Well, I am from Houston and if I had to pick a place close by to hang out and drink ipa's it would probably be at roughtail in ok.

That legal weed doesn't even seem feasible here, our elected officials are trying legislate us back to the 18th century in more ways than one.

The new Lost Forty Wild Barrel series is excellent. Fermented with three strains of brett and pedio. Aged in wine barrels, too. Very peachy with good wine notes. Acidity and funk are mild right now, but I expect that will change with time in the bottle. The label is awesome, as usual, and it's actually printed on thin wood veneer.

    Negative. ~400 bottle count.

As a matter of fact, they posted earlier there are only a few bottles remaining.

Check back through the last 2-3 pages, there are some recommendations posted.

Depending on what time you come through, Rebel Kettle currently has some great stuff on tap, and their lunch is always good.

Ok just read back over the last few pages and will definitely check out Legacy and Colonial on my way out of town. Last trip I hit Rebel Kettle and the Flying Saucer and loved them both. I think I happened to get one of the first pours of BA Wake N Flake too. As a bonus, my coworkers didn't like their's so I got to drink those too (small pours)! Coming in on the 24th so I'll keep tabs on what beers to look out for. I'll be looking for quality over quantity as I really only have M-W to drink them and then Thurs will be a Little Rock brewery night. Can't fly with beer as I don't check a bag. Any recs on bombers are appreciated.

Grace and Grit will probably be gone by then unfortunately. Shoot me a PM when you're here and I'll save a can for you if you can't find it.

AFAIK, the only Little Rock brewery (the only one in AR that I know of) who packages in bombers is Flyway. Everyone who packages around here leans towards cans. You can get crowlers at Lost Forty, and Colonial Wine & Spirits does 32oz counter pressure growler fills. Legacy might also, I don't recall. For regional stuff, our distro pales in comparison to IL. I'd look for bombers from Mother's and maybe Wiseacre. Otherwise, you may find special release stuff that goes quickly up there still sitting around down here.

Hit me up if you want to grab a beer while you're here. I work downtown, and my schedule is pretty flexible.

Thanks for the info! I'll be in Hot Springs all week but back in Little Rock on Thursday evening so that would probably be the best time to grab a beer. I'm staying right near Flyway I believe.

I should be back from seeing A Perfect Circle in Dallas and be at Legacy running the beer department by mid-morning on Monday. I used to work at Colonial and love those guys, but we probably have some stuff that they already sold out of.

As far as bombers/singles, right now we have:
    Mothers Rye Barrel MILF
    Mothers Bermuda 3 Blind Mice
Mothers BBA Imperial 3 Blind Mice
Clown Shoes Hammer of the Beast
Clown Shoes Flight of the Angry Beast
    Clown Shoes Exorcism at Sunset
    Wiseacre Rockets in the Complex
    Wiseacre Symphonic Barrel Aged Sour
375ml COOP Brandy Barrel aged DNR with Cherries
    12oz Prairie Pe-Kan
12oz Prairie Paradise (only 1 or 2 of these left)
    12oz Prairie Christmas Bomb 2015 and 2016
    12oz Off Color Dino Smores
12oz Schlafly Ibex Cellar BBA Imp Stout
750ml Sweetwater 20th Anniversary Hash Brett IPA
    750ml Boulevard Love Child 5, 6, and 7
750ml Boulevard Rye on Rye on Rye
    750ml Victory Java Cask
We have a ton of other barrel aged and special release stuff, but those were the ones that jumped out to me looking at our beer wall right now.

My name's Jake, just ask for me if you're able to make it by here.

    Cheers!
