Talk to me about Sours... Where in Spokane do the craft brewers gather ?
I drink a black IPA every once in a while and once in a really, really rare instance I will drink an IPA in the summer. I dunno, I don't enjoy American hop varieties all that much and I really do not care for the intense bitterness. Much happier enjoying a pale ale or hoppy saison, either with late hop additions.
thought about starting a self help group called hops unanimous
Not the Ruination but I've had the regular IPA which I really enjoyed here in NJ. So it's traveled 3,000 miles. Arrogant is good too and priced right. Didn't get the 1st two Enjoy Bys but will look for the Enjoy BY 4/1/13 IPA.
I can quit whenever I want to.......
They'd have to rip that can of Heady Topper from my cold, dead hand. Yes, I love IPA's!
Absolutely hooked. I hope I never have to give them up!
Meh. If IPAs completely disappeared from the shelves tomorrow, it would probably take a few months for me to even realize it.
Historically I have been a Stout/Porter person. Lately I am on a IPA/DIPA kick. Really enjoy what they bring to the table and find they are a nice offset to the stouts. Couldn't stand them for a long time and was surprised to find how much I am enjoying them now.
I'm addicted to being addicted to IPAs.
Signed. IPA's are pretty much my go to beer, but I love me some Belgians too. And depending on the season, I might drink a nice stout or hefe or octoberfest or winter lager or barleywine or brown ale or National Bohemian...
If by hooked u mean they are on the bottom of my list then yes I am hooked. To each his own but I am not a fan of overly hoppy brews. Old Rasputin as a stout is even too hoppy for my taste. Although I do not mind a PtE every now and again.
Damn straight I am hooked on hops for life....FOR LIFE! Hops are life as far as I am concerned! Doesn't change the fact that I like almost all styles, but for go to beers it's the Hops that get me every time.
If I were told I was allergic to hops I would die of a severe allergic reaction to hops.
I hear you guys are brewing some pretty amazing hoppy beers your place. I just traded for a bottle of Naughty Temple. Can't wait to try it!!
Please give me you opinion good or bad and thank you for giving us a try! NT is an old world hopped up bronze ale age to perfection for a year and a half in whiskey barrels. Cheers!
hooked, no. i love IPAs and i know what a good one should taste like. i'm all for hops, but i work in a high end wine/beer store so i'm constantly surrounded by new flavors i want to taste.
What ^^^ he said!
I hate IPA's so much that I just ordered my 5th pony keg of one this year.
I definately do go through "I've had enough" phases with respect to IPAs, but I always come back. I suppose that is the very definition of being hooked.
My name is Christopher, my friends call me Chris....and I am hooked on IPA's.
My quest.. to try all of them.
Me, Hophead. You, Jane.
since i've been a geek seems the "snobiest" geeks i know frown on the IPA's and brag about their Geuze/Lambic, etc. I realyl dont' care, I'm def. hooked on IPA's and love it. when my nose gets close to that bottle i want pine and citrus and floral aromas to overwhelm me. I do not, however care for heavy Alc IPA's, like them 6%-8% range and always look for a strong Malt backbone. Also loving stouts from frounders/bells/Goose Island.
nothing like the feeling of a fresh cold hoppy IPA or DIPA or TIPA
I've been hooked on hops since my first trip to the GABF in 2000. My craziness for hoppy beers has only gotten worse with time. I don't see it changing anytime soon.
Get a good reviewed IPA and take a good wiff before you taste the HOPS. You may find a new beer style you like.
