Anyone know if this or any other Argus ciders can be found at any bottle shops in Austin? I know it was pretty limited. If not, do any of you Texas BA's have a bottle in your cellar you'd be willing to part with?

Hey, man, this is BeerAdvocate, not CiderAdvocate.

    (I'm not helping, am I?)

I know, but at a recent beer tasting someone brought it. I was reluctant because I don't care for ciders normally, and I questioned why anyone would bring one, but it tasted like a delicious sour beer. I was told it was made with Brett. It impressed quite a few of us.

Should be able to find it at a few places. Whip In, Specs, Whole Foods, etc. I found a few bottles at Antonelli's Cheese Shop. ( at a slightly lower price than most stores)

Really good stuff. IMO. Much better than some of the stuff people rave about on here. Price just kills me though.($20 a bottle)

Malus Opus is out now. We have it for sale at Black Star Co-op and we will be tapping of a custom-blended Argus cask on Wednesday September 26th.

Nah, I know what you mean. Argus is some excellent stuff. I regularly bring meads to beer tastings, so I guess I'm not one to talk...

Well, a relative of mine picked me up some Malus Opus, looks like the other ones aren't available now. Hope it will be similar to the Bandera, it definitely sounds good.

Bandera Brut is mostly gone. The Malus Opus is not quite as sour, but still awesome stuff. Their products are super artisan quality, using fresh Texas apples and oak aging, and are more akin to a French Champagne or Belgian Gueuze than "cider" as most people perceive it.
