Excited for Fox Farm and that table service for the welcome baked goods + coffee was great.

That Foam beer is liquid campfire. That is not a compliment.

 

There is zero smoke in the Foam beer.

Oh yes it is.

 

I had sober up and drive home for birthday dinner so i could only grab one flight after breakfast.
Votive no.1 was amazing.
Geneology was, imo, nice and thick but not too sweet. Exactly what i wanted and probably my favorite beer of the day.
Crooked Stave Rye was like drinking alcoholic syrup. I really like sweet stouts and even that was about to give me diabetes. Did anyone else have this experience?
Multiverse was nice and fruity, but compared to the intensity of the other beers in the flight it didnt stand out much. I'd like to try it on its own.
Black Damnation was, as someone who drinks no wine, what i imagine having a dark and roasty wine would be. I very much enjoyed it.

 

Genealogy was my favorite. That was an exceptional beer that you would expect from Hill.

Other standouts, Apple brandy barrel noir was very good, it was kinda boozy, but that apple barrel flavor was something different. Galactic nuts was very good. Nice and roasty stout. Lord Whangdoodle was super sweet and tasty, but I could not imagine drinking more than a 4 oz. pour. It was overly sweet as it warmed.

I had a couple flights and did not have anything bad. But the above were the standouts for me. Not everything on the list was available. I only saw one of each brewer on tap so I might go back today and see if some of those others made it to the lines.

I got there about 1 o'clock and thankfully the weather was nice because it put 15 - 20 people outside on the patio and it wasn't shoulder to shoulder in the bar. It was actually quite comfortable from 1 - 3 when I was there. The Staff was excellent, I did not have to wait longer than a minute or two for beers.

 

Just a heads up: I cancelled my 1145a brunch reservation at Armsby today because something came up and I have to get home sooner rather than later. One table for two open if anyone is interested in jumping on it. Cheers.

 

Went Sunday for mid day brunch. Both beer and food incredible. I had the pork belly, a couple of stout flights and an Edward in between to cleanse the palate. Loved the Brandy Barrel Prairie and the over the top Tree House chocolate beer. Tough to beat the Abbey on any given Sunday — but stout fest weekend??? Amazing.....

 

We got an erroneous pour then because that was a smoke wagon. Still though...wonderful event.
