It could happen.
Sounds to me like it is just a collaboration with 4 breweries; one at a time. Has your scenario ever played out in the past?
I've had it since they parted ways. It seems a little off now. it went from a nice thick head all the way to the bottom of the glass to almost no head at all less than a minute after pouring. And it now tastes a little different (to me anyway). I'm very disappointed. AB was my go to.
Here's a list of what has changed:
* Some of the print on the side of the bottle.
That's the full list. Nothing else has changed one iota.
@StoneGreg I just tapped a sixtel of AB with a kegged date of late august. Couldn't see any info as to it being brewed elsewhere. Kegs still being done there in CA?
I think the majority of bottles/kegs is still brewed by Stone. The AB being brewed at other locations is tapped at those locations and proceeds are going to charity.
Not majority. 100%
The only exception, as you describe, is that some select breweries are brewing it and serving it in their own establishments. NONE of this beer goes out their doors...thus 100% of the Arrogant Bastard Ale that you can find in bars, restaurants, markets & grocery stores is brewed at Stone under the name Arrogant Bastard Brewing Co. We are simply letting the Arrogant Bastard exert more of its unique personality in its own way.
Also, love the new bottled on and enjoy by dates on Stone bottles. Cheers!
Just curious, will the breweries that are brewing arrogant be continually brewing it just for their breweries or is it more of a one off? Also, I have seen the Maine Beer and Great Divide versions, but haven't seen anything on the Maui or Brewdog versions, will they be brewing their versions soon?
In order... One off. Yes.
Hope that helps!
