I suppose this might be exciting news for some of you that appreciate big over-hopped American brews, although I'm not a huge fan. You might be able to have a go at one of Asheville's most lauded beers by one of it's most hyped up breweries.
Don't get me started on the fact that it was at 'Spoons...at least the Brewdog boys had enough class to open their own chain.

"Wicked Weed's Freak double IPA is the brewery's flagship beer, and one of the most popular beers around Asheville. Now drinkers in England will enjoy it as well.

Wicked Weed brewers Walt and Luke Dickinson are just back from a trip to England where they made the Freak for the J.D. Wetherspoon pub chain. Wetherspoon is one of England's big pub chains with more than 900 venues.

The Dickinsons brewed 500 barrels of of the Freak (or 1,000 casks) on a 200-year-old system at Batemans Brewery in Lincolnshire.

This English Freak will be a bit different than the Asheville version. To comply with local regulations, it was just 7.5 percent alcohol, rather than the 8.5 percent enjoyed here. And it was done in an open fermenter rather than the closed system in Asheville. Otherwise, the ingredients were the same.

The beer will be released by Wetherspoon to English drinkers in a couple of weeks."

Interested to see if the Batemans house character appears
