I'm headed to the AC Beerfest this Friday. I've never been before. I see there are several well-established national craft breweries that will be there (Founders, Dogfish Head, Firestone Walker, etc.) but also many breweries that are less well-known, smaller, and I think it's fair to say, newer. In particular, this seems to be a showcase for up and coming local breweries from NJ.

    https://www.acbeerfest.com/brewers

Can any BAs recommend some of these lesser-known breweries that I should seek out? I hear one NJ brewery to look out for is Alementary. I'm looking forward to trying some breweries I don't normally see on shelves, and would love some recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Czigmeister has been pumping out some good stuff.

    Czig Meister
    Bolero Snort
    Brotherton
Demented - Some of their BA beers are pretty good (both sour and clean)

Not naming others cause I think they’re not worth seeking out or I just don’t know due to lack of experience. Although I were at the Fest I might as well try as many as possible while there.

    Enjoy.

I'll second Czig Meister, Bolero Snort and Brotherton.
Broken Goblet has had some great beers.
Cape May makes some very good stuff across the board.
Double Nickel does an excellent Pilsner as well as some others.
Jersey Girl makes some excellent juicy pales, as does...
    Lunacy and...
    Tonewood.
Spellbound has some very solid beers.

There's really too much to choose from! Have fun, and be careful.

Out of the lot, I'm looking at Tonewood, Czig, Vinyl. Bummer that Kane, Conclave, Referend, Troon, and others will not be there. I believe they don't go because the Brewers are expected to give a bunch of kegs for free where other fests will compensate the breweries for their beer.

Mainly going for the Descendents and a friend's hot sauce company.

Along with everyones locals definitely check out cigar city, id expect them to bring atleast 1 crazy keg with them. Transmitter has some fun stuff, Two Roads has some solid ipas. Check out Defiant, dont expect much out of them but they make pretty solid beer in all styles.

Saw the descendents in philly last time they came around. If My wife didn’t just have a baby I would be there.

Make a list of 5 breweries to try and hit them first. Last year they had a NJ section so you can try Tuckahoe, Wet Ticket and Brotherton. Its a big event and you probably won't get to try everthing, so just take it slow and have fun.

That is one big list. Depending on what the breweries bring most of those could be a highlight. I would suggest as others have said hit the locals and just browse and have fun. Do not worry about the FOMO.

Cape May. Because of their location they don't get nearly the love they deserve and the stuff they bring to the Beerfest is always top notch. That Moscow Mule beer, wow.

Tonewood was by far my favorite brewery at beerfest. I hung out at their little nook the longest. 8 beers on tap and a table to chill at was the perfect set-up. Improv and DDH Fuego were both awesome.

I also enjoyed Lunacy's Brewtus Juice.

People probably would have enjoyed Icarus more if Kevin wasn't there pouring beers.
