Austin BeerWorks 1st Anniversary Party

    Super excited for this event tomorrow. ABW is one of my favorite local breweries, and just the possibility of getting some Sputnik makes me want to rush to this event!



    "We're very excited to announce our 1st Anniversary party! We'll be holding it at the brewery this Saturday, May 12th. In addition to our normal lineup, we'll be tapping Battle Axe, Sputnik, and Gold Fist throughout the day. And that's not all!

    We will also be introducing our 1st Anniversary beers. We made two batches of the same recipe and used a different yeast on each one. The results are: Missile Dropkick Double IPA and Flying Headbutt Belgian IPA. Both were dry hopped 3 separate times, with 3 different hops. We used over 400lbs of hops in these beers. They will melt your face off."

    My wife and I will be there for the first session. Looking forward to the anniversary beers and hopefully another taste of Sputnik.

    I might have 2 extra tickets to the 12:00 session. My in-laws were supposed to go with us, but looks like they might not be able to. Let me know if you're interested

    It was a good time. Not nearly as crowded as I thought it would be. Four new beers to try. Two kegs of Sputnik, the first of which kicked amazingly quickly.

    Sputnik is by FAR their best beer. Unfortunately, I came down with some type of bug and was bedridden yesterday, so I didnt end up going. :slight_frown:

    real fun time! The most interesting thing for me was how utterly packed to the gills they are- they're producing at almost top capacity. Great people, delicious beer. Best news for me was that they've got some whiskey barrel aged Sputnik coming down the pipe!
