Says the guy with 20 BB9K...
It's hard for me to not love the critics.
Sarro is used to it. He has been mocked and accused of "Hoarding More Whales" than the Japanese!
After reading this thread i will just drain pour this ba9k because people that have not had it say its not worth it..... what people are asking...... Its beer man its only worth what people will trade for it. If people want more than your willing to trade for it.... simply take your trade else where it is just that simple.
Life is too short to hoard your beers!
Lets face it, ALL beers are subjective to personal pallet's. I trade Upland sours cuz I dig BA Stouts, not sours. At the end of the day, if you're drinking something you enjoy and/or had/have fun experiencing -then cheers! Life is good.
I think I was leaving that open for WAY too much misinterpretation! Damn, drunken posting!
Anyone think White Chocolate will land one?
The markup is nuts though. Dark Lord from $15 to $50, 9000 from what, $18.99 a six pack to $26.50 for a 750ml?
I know THAT beer hasn't been distributed out of state but its my opinion that whenever a brewery starts distributing to other states, the demand for their beers in the trading forum decreases. Ex: the Bruery distributing things like Oude Tart, Tart of Darkness, etc. Jester King is now in the Shelton Brothers portfolio.
Well yeah, BA Dark Lord is what, $8 when they have it on draft?
I wish I had 50...that beer is amazing
Challenge accepted and completed.
FWIW, I got to try a bottle over the weekend. Goood barrel character, still a so-so base beer. If I were in Kzoo and could buy a bottle for myself, sure, I'd drop the $27, but what I had doesn't line up with what people are demanding. In short: another Bell's 750mL release.
Has any Bell's beer lived up to it's hype? Can't say anything I've had from them has been as remarkable as people make them sound.
I'm of the opinion that the majority of their stuff is great, but nothing amazing. This one, however, they hit out of the park.
BA 9000 is better than black note. Also, I don't know how anyone can say Two Hearted is not exceptional.
Fixed this for me.
Fresh its my favorite IPA period.
You forgot Expedition Stout
yah im no bells fan boy but expy stout, two hearted, hopslam, are all great great beers. having had black note and BA9K now that just put bells at one of my fav. breweries.
NO ITS NOT ....
imo a bottle of bb batch 9k should go 1:1 with things like king henry and BCBVS for example...I mean I can't understand why it wouldn't....a brewery only release with 1502 bottles, at about 28 bucks a bottle after tax, and its an amazingly good beer.....king henry is an amazing beer (never had BCBVS), but from what I have gathered they were about half the price and got distributed....all in all I can't hate on someone asking for beers like those for a bb batch 9k....real talk
assuming about half the price depending on when and where you got it obviously
So 9 total beers, and we didn't even list regular cherry stout (which I love) or Black Note. How many breweries can say they have 9+ top-notch beers in a wide array of styles? Not many.
I can. But I live in CA where mom and pop breweries make better options.
I think Bells Porter is fantastic too.
And if anyone has a bottle of BA batch 9000 to trade please drop me a bM.
A lot of things are better than black note. For your $28 sake I would hope BA 9000 is.
You think I only bought one?
1/10th the bottle count and twice the price with 0 distribution. CLEARLY 1:1!!!!!!!!!
find a regular trading BUDDY and he can make it happen......
I traded two recently, 1:1 for a BCBVS and the other for a batch 2 chocolate rain with a few locals to even out the $4$. All parties were happy.
I recently had the opportunity to try BA9K to tap, at a local Miami bar (World of Beer). The beer is great, but I'm glad I didn't have to trade for it. Mainly because I (plus a few others) noticed that it was damn near similar to Bourbon Big Sound, which I have access to and plenty of. The biggest difference between the two is the body and mouthfeel (BA9K being the bigger of the two)....taste and smell is almost identical. I know, I know, taste means nothing, just my $.02.
Isnt ba big sound a scottish ale? If so I dont see how they would taste similar? And I agree with mongo bottle is better then tap
Can I get a BA9k w/ a Figgy Pudding?
Just a thought.
I will try.
Arizona beer week will have it on draft twice, wOOT!
I wish I had gotten more bottles of this when it was released at the General Store.
