Well, the ten day course of antibiotics are done and a fat lot of use they've been too as I still sound like Barry White. But to celebrate in the smoothest of fashions I've polished off Wincle Waller, Bear Republic Red Rocket and Old Viscosity. Funnily enough, my favourite was the Waller which was a sturdy, delicate and complex thing of beauty. Second place has to go to the Red Rocket and a not so distant thrid place for Old Viscosity which looked and smelled great but just didn't deliver the taste or experience I was expecting. Beer reviews to come soon.

Think I'll call it a day on the beverage front as I have to work tomorrw and I wouldn't want to turn this into some accidental late night drinking thread.

I don't normally drink on a school night but I am still in bits after loosing a little furry friend so had a Ringwood BoonDoggle, Wincle's old had and finished off on Bateman's Mocha which I grabbed a few at £1.30 a pint bottle.

Didnt expect much from that Mocha beer and it delivered that in spades. You could still tell it was Batemans under the choc and coffee and not something i'll bother with again. The remaining bottle will be palmed off on some unsuspecting visitor.

I was expecting a stout or porter type brew and found basically chocolate and beer and alcohol
I reckon there is a lot of stateside brews like that so okay I didn't get a fantastic beer but I reckon you could shove a phoney U.S. label and mark 'em up 500% no probs lmao

Very true. I get the feeling many "craft breweries" shove loads of coffee, chocolate, and/or hops into things to palm it off as something amazing, rather than trying to craft something skillfully to achieve subtle flavours.

Hope you're feeling better Zimbo mate, and if your liver isn't aching by Sunday i'll be very disappointed!

I missed reading the loss of your little furry friend yesterday. Sorry to hear it. A toast may be in order.

Thank you Zimbo I'm just glad in a way that I never got my cat to drink beer because it might have been a bit of a bad reminder raising a pint glass of my favourite tipples.

Yes I think a drink to Jasper the Ginger Tom is most in order and also thanks to jmw, nice to meet you mate.

Yes - I have a furry friend, he's only 9 months old, can't imagine being without him now!

My thoughts are with you on the loss!

I remember losing my dog Jack, who was the same age as me so grew up with me as I did!

I'll raise my pint of Black Cat to him sir.

a fitting tribute it is indeed if it's the Moorhouse mild.

A friend is a friend even if they are covered in fur or feathers or even Fosters

Yep and I plan on having the second with a curry to test the theory of mild accompanying curry well! Also i'm baking my own Worthington White Shield Pirathas.

I'll drink a toast to furry friends lost. Just don't let the Brewdog boys get their hands on the poor critter...
