Bad beer labels that deter you from buying?

    breakfast stout, backwoods, porter and backstage series for example all are sweet IMO.

    I've tried drinking the packaging but it just doesn't add anything to a beer's appearance, nose or taste.

    I'm from MA and I can tell you that Clown Shoes has some pretty excellent beers. And yeah the labels are mostly god awful. Never in a million years would I see myself buying Tramp Stamp on name and label alone. But it's tasty.

    I second the Hoppin' Frog hate! Honestly I've never even tried the beer, but have been interested in checking out B.O.R.I.S. and getting over myself.

    Also, I've questioned MBC's choices as well, but their beer is so excellent, and a poster here had a completely different opinion (less Word97 and more Wine-esque, I guess) so it's clearly personal.

    I can NOT hang with Bear Republic labels though. Maybe cause I hate Nascar?

    Do beer labels ever turn you off so much you won't buy the beer?
    Founders new Dark Penance, yikes that is an ugly label, but I like the Breakfast Stout kid
    Hoppin' Frog's labels, great beer,s stupid childish labels
    Flying Dog's labels keep me from buying their beer
    Anderson Valley, a bear with antlers, why?
    Samuel Adams barrel room collections, bad labels and the bottle shape in unnecessary

    My personal nemesis is the La Chouffe dwarf. I admire their beer, but the design looks plain stupid.

    A lot of founder's designs are ugly IMO.

    I stayed away from Clown Shoes for a while because I thought they were some sort of ICP/Juggalo beer. Now that I've tried them the designs have grown on me a little but I still think they are pretty tacky.

    I think a lot of New Glarus labels are pretty bad but obviously the beer is great. Same for Great Lakes, though less bad and just blah. Central Waters before rebranding were terrible.
