Yeah so uh, two weeks ago I was like a kid in the candy store...finalized the largest trade I ever made or thought I would consider...shipped my 12 pack styro and poof... Guy vanishes... No package my way.

Out of greed I never checked references as I thought I ran the risk of somebody stealing the bottles out from under me but in reality, I entered one of the biggest scams of my life. For starters, I am idiot and didn't check the bad trader list and you can save comments on my stupidity as I already know how dumb I am.

Huge. thanks goes out to both Gnosis and grumpy for their help. Within an hour I had this guys home number and parents names. Within 3 days I had enough evidence to press a grand larceny charge.. within a week I have already spoken to his parents daily, 5 days in a row, a week and half goes by and his parents and I are on first name basis but no box... Two weeks go by and I finally take grumpys advice and send a return label... And that brings me to today.... Just opened my 12 pack shipper and their before my eyes are 12 bottles I never thought i would see again...

As mad as I am at the situation, I appreciate the fact that he sent them back.. whether it was to clear his concious or only because of the legal action I brought to his family.. if you read this, thank you again for sending my beer back.

Moral of the story for any new trader... Don't be a jack ass like me, check references, check bad trader list because this shit doesn't happen in real life... Fortunately the stars were aligned for me this time, and I am on cloud nine.

Thank you again Eric and Mike, without you this happy ending would be a true "blue balling"

Was he a minor? Why would you be able to bring legal action against his family?

I get that parents have a moral obligation to ensure their child isn't acting like a jackass, so I can understand contacting them to a point, but the legal thing is confusing me.

That is so weird. Was it like some high school kid or something?

Depending on how things were done, as a minor, his parents could have responsibility, or they could also just not want the legal expense or the potential criminal record for their kid, so they could have been involved for just those reasons. But so weird.

26... Not legal action on parents.. on him. How would u feel if you heard your son could potentially go to prison? He is on the bad trader list already, just didn't check

Grand Larceny (at least in New York) means stealing something over $1000 in value....those would have to be some crazy beers I guess.

Just remember shipping alcohol is also technically illegal—that would have been awkward if you had actually had to file a formal complaint. But really glad to hear you got your bottles back. Beer justice!

What is their username? If it's already on the bad trade list, you may as well post it here so people are aware. I hate when people make "LOL got screwed!" threads and refuse to identify who reamed them.

classic "happy ending" and "blue balling" references are hard to find, especially in the same post. Taste the rare!
