Figured I'd start a thread so people can post new info and maybe look for people to meet up with/trade.

Are you just asking for the info? Because nothing has been announced yet

I believe this belongs in the Midwest thread since it takes place in St. Louis. [Mod edit: thread has been moved] I'd wait til we have more info though, otherwise this thread will turn into a speculation shit storm.

I was sitting in a bar in Cleveland and surprisingly the 2 people next to me were talking about this. One guy said to the other they heard it's going to be the same day as dark lord day this year. Other guy said that was ridiculous. He heard it was really going to be the same day as Short's anniversary party this year.

Personally, I think these guys were both idiots. I mean, who in Cleveland knows what's going on in St. Louis anyway?

I was lucky enough to talk to a Perennial brewer at FOBAB. He said (back in November) that they just put the beer into barrels. Furthermore, he continued to say that it takes roughly 8 months to develop in the barrels. He said they didn't anticipate the massive success and wasn't ready to produce it so soon.

I would look for a summer release.

    Hello Chris,

Thank you so much for entering our lottery for Barrel-Aged Sump. Unfortunately, your name was not selected by our system.

We will be utilizing the lottery system for Barrel-Aged Abraxas, as well. If you are interested in receiving details regarding this release, please join our email list at www.perennialbeer.com.

Again, thank you so much for your entry and best of luck with the next lottery!

Its going to have a variety of release methods I believe. Either way they have been gauging the past releases with BA 17 and BA Sump to better ensure a smooth BA Abraxas release, I wouldn't worry.

Considering I know 10+ people who struck out on the BA Sump lottery, BA Abraxas will be even harder to get. 1 winner for 50 losers? Maybe more?

I know 10 also, I think its more like a 1/100 chance depending on bottle amount

Each person will probably be more likely to win the Powerball than to win the opportunity to buy a BA Abraxas.

If people just signed themselves up and not family/friends odds would be much better. Though I guess its no different than beinging mules with you to a release

BA 17 was 2 bottle limit, BA Sump was a 1 bottle limit. I would guess that BA Abraxas would be a 1 bottle limit in a lottery.

FRUSTRATING!!! I've tried to sign up for their mailing list & while I get a message that a confirmation email will be sent, it never is...I've tried using both email addresses...tried calling the brewery...tried emailing them. FRUSTRATING!!!

Are the confirmation emails only sent out once a month? The message that I get indicates it's been sent immediately & that I need to respond to it to finalize the process. Again, FRUSTRATING.

With apologies to my friends that own other local breweries, I don’t know if there is a beer in St. Louis that has as much buzz as Perennial Artisan Ale‘s barrel-aged Abraxas. It’s easily one of the most sought after beers in the area and for good reason, last year’s version of BA Abraxas was one of the best beers I enjoyed last year (and this year as well, it still tastes amazing.)

Well, it’s been almost 18 months since that original release and frankly, beer nerds are getting antsy. People are clamoring for news about the release of this epically enjoyable beer. Well, I have it for you.

    Option 1: Early Reservation

For you locals, hope you didn’t have plans to go out of town this weekend (and if you’re not local, hope your plans involved visiting our fair city during this long holiday) because this Friday, May 23rd, Perennial will begin an early reservation list for two bottles (per reservation) beginning at 6PM. Perennial promises 400 reservations will be made available during this early sign up.

If you plan on coming out to stand in line on Friday to secure your reservation, Perennial understand that bottle shares typically break out during these line-waiting ceremonies. A bottle share will be permitted on the patio, but out of respect to Perennial’s neighbors and Perennial’s staff, they ask that the bottle share end at 4PM.

    Option 2: Lottery

But what about those of you who can’t make it in this Friday? You’re not out of luck, Perennial will be doing an online lottery beginning Thursday, May 29th at 12AM and will be ending the lottery Monday, June 2nd at 12AM. There will be a link on Perennial’s website (http://www.perennialbeer.com) where you will be asked to provide your name and email address so Perennial can contact you if you’re lucky enough to win. (Make sure to double-check that information before hitting send! Also, multiple entries will be discarded, so… don’t be that guy.)

If you’re on the list for the early reservation, you’re still eligible to enter the lottery. Lottery winners will be notified if they’ve won on Monday, June 2nd. This lottery will be for a single bottle of BA Abraxas.

    Bottle Pickup
You’ve won! Good for you! Now, how do you get your bottles? Here’s the breakdown.

For those of you who got in via early reservation, you can pick up on the following days:
    Friday, June 6th 4:00-10:00PM
    Saturday, June 7th Noon-11:00PM
    Wednesday, June 11 4:00-10:00PM
    Thursday, June 12th 4:00-10:00PM
    Friday, June 13th 4:00-11:00PM
    Saturday, June 14th Noon-11:00PM

For those of you who have won the lottery, you can pick up on the following days:
    Saturday, June 7th Noon-11:00PM
    Wednesday, June 11 4:00-10:00PM
    Thursday, June 12th 4:00-10:00PM
    Friday, June 13th 4:00-11:00PM
    Saturday, June 14th Noon-11:00PM

Now you know when you can pick them up, what will you need? Well, each bottle is $30 a piece (tax is included) and an original, photocopied, or mobile photo of a valid state ID will be required upon pickup (for those of you looking to proxy for some friends.)

Any unclaimed bottled will go to me! No wait, they’ll go on sale in the Perennial tasting room on Wednesday, June 18th at 4PM. There will also be limited draft available of BA Abraxas on Friday, June 6th and Saturday, June 7th.

Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Yea, same situation with BA Sump and BA 17. On the proxy topic, I feel like people need to have a proxy lined up prior to these lotteries being held. I had people I'd never had prior contact with requesting I pick up their allocation as late as the final day of pickup. As a former Boy Scout, I guess I'm a fan of planning ahead and being prepared

Based on the details not saying camping was illegal and the talk prior to the Fuzzy release, I think the line is probably 5 deep now. It is absurd to me the amount of time people can take off of work to line up. I'm just hoping to leave by 4 Friday and be #399 in line.

50 bottles spoken for as of tonight. Nice to see them acknowledge the importance of the Chicago beer buying market.

Well with that and the lottery system and being able to proxy, maybe most people will just enter the lottery rather than drive down.

So you are planing on checking a hotel room and wasting more money for two weekends? You can go to the city museum but that only takes a day. Lets be honest, you are planing on driving 24 hours (two twelve hour trips round trip), and spend more time waiting in line (possibly another 12 hours) just for two beers. Please don't tell me you are dragging a significant other to mule for you.
