Bay Area Supermarket & Bottleshop Thread (October 2016)

I've wondered why it took so long for you Bay Area BA's to start this thread.

Agreed - seems like Bay Area info has been woefully underrepresented. Hopefully we can get some traction with this thread - I'm certainly happy to contribute as I come across stuff.

Speaking of City Beer, they have been teasing some releases this week on IG. Seems very cryptic in general - any thoughts on what might be in store?

 

Alvarado st dropping cans this week.......

Anyone found any breakfast stout laying around in the east bay? I like to pick up a case or two for football season and have only found a couple 4 packs.

 

If you guys have a Mollie Stones location on that side of the Bay, that might be another place to check. I've previously seen cases of Founders stuff stacked at their stores on the Peninsula.

 

Looks like it is stuff from Half Acre. They posted cases of Daisy Cutter, Gone Away and Pony on their IG today.

I was about to start chuckling, but I realized just how sad this is..

 

That IG post goes with the whole "a train is a comin'" on City Beer's event page....which seems to have been down for quite awhile it seems.

 

Yeah - pretty underwhelming, given how much they were building it up since last week.

 

Few spots around the Bay and Peninsula will get it. Beer Rev most Iikely.

 

I have heard that AJ's in Capitola, close to Sante has Alvarado cans, but last time I was there they were out.

 

On the Peninsula, Ale Arsenal often gets Alvarado St. cans. Near SARA, Beer Thirty as well.

 

In the South Bay, South Winchester BBQ gets Alvarado St. cans, but they are ridiculously expensive. ISO Beers had a couple as well last time I was in there, but didn't check the prices

 

Did they sell out at City Beer?

 

Bevmo Danville had FBS on Saturday.

 

Cool thread! I'll try to spread some info when I see the special stuff dropping in the peninsula. Our distribution is kind of shitty, but it's mostly delayed more than anything. There are some awesome honey holes here - I just hit up Palo Alto Fine Wine and Spirits last week and managed to catch some Pliny. I was also blown away by their selection, check them out if you're in Palo Alto.

 

There were cans of Minesweeper at Caps & Taps in Dublin earlier this month.

Yep. We've had pretty much a good amount of everything Alvarado Street cans.

 

Beercraft in Novato may be the closest, and it's definitely the best....

 

K&L has Half Acre up on their site and available...Daisy Cutter, Pony Pils, Gone Away

 

I think they also had Navaja yesterday, but it appears to be sold out now.

 

Do you know if they will be getting cans from tomorrows release from Alvarado?

San Bruno. But, all WF on the peninsula got flooded with all founders last year. Should be fine.

 

Same at City Beer Store in SF, didn't see Navaja.
