yea I kinda steer clear of high water, lots of great sounding beer ( and local I think they contract with Devils canyon, atleast they used too) but have always been let down.

now heretic brewing out of pittsburg is great! although I think try moved to fairfield

Half Moon just put in a taproom in downtown Berkeley. I had no idea they were planning on opening one, but I stumbled upon it yesterday and apparently they just opened it up. It's called Pacific Standard:

It's a pretty cool space and they had a ton of Murder Inc. in their cold case for $10

 

Beer Rev got the Alvarado st cans in.

 

Ale Arsenal posted on IG this afternoon that they have these also.

 

Has anyone seen Xocoveza yet? So weird that other states get it weeks before NorCal. I mean, Stone is a CA brewer.....wtf

 

^ Santa Clara County should be getting it soon. No idea exactly when though...

 

Thanks I'll keep my eyes peeled. Last year, it hit for a week or so and then it seemed to disappear completely.

 

Judging by how fast it has sold out everywhere, I doubt it. Probably need to show up same day to have any luck.

 

50/50. They have a good amount, but it flew last time.

 

When I showed up around 7:30 there was quite a bit left and the place was pretty empty. Seems like the rain was keeping people at home... You might have a shot with cans on Wednesday. I hit up The Good Hop and they said that they were getting cans this week. They didn't say when the cans would be available though. If Beer Rev runs out on Wednesday, you might want to give Good Hop a try.

 

Yeah... When I talked to someone at Alvarado a few days ago they said they had a bunch of accounts in the East Bay, but the only shops that were getting cans were Caps & Taps, Beer Rev and Good Hop. At least Good Hop is only a couple of blocks from the 19th St. BART station.

 

if you guys are still looking for alvarado cans.... Original Gravity in downtown SJ had 4 packs of contains no juice for sale. $18.00 a pack. Good Karma also had these as well as Haole punch cans.

 

If you get to the East bay in El Sobrante, check out Bottles. It's an indian grocery store in the front, superb craft beer bar in the back. He's got a big fridge with great stuff and a bunch of stuff on tap, you can sip stuff for free before buying. He had 2 sixers of Karl Straus Aurora Hoppyalis which I can't find anywhere (I snapped them up) and a lot of other great stuff.

I was telling him about Mike Hess Solis and the next time I was back, he had all the Hess stuff and said it really sells well. He's a big IPA guy. Nothing like having a good beer with the smell of curry in the background.

 

$15 over the hill at some spots.

 

The craft beer store in Alameda also gets Alvarado cans.

 

That's a cool shop. I've only been once, but I was impressed with their selection of beers.

 

Any leads on Born Yesterday bottles on the Peninsula (I live in South San Francisco) or near Dublin/Pleasanton?

 

FYI for East Bay folks - new Total Wine opening in Pleasant Hill tomorrow (10/27). If anyone happens to stop by, would be interesting to hear how their selection looks.

strange hmb brewing in the east bay, good for them, but they need to improve their product a bit before expanding, havnt had anything from them to write home about

Anyone who lives in SF should go to Crafty Fox in the Mission right now.
Almanac Never Say Never (hazy), Alvarado Contains No Juice, Fieldwork Sea Salt, Fieldwork St. Monroe, Fieldwork Salted Coconut, Berryessa Wet Hop Mini Separation Anxiety and Modern Times Underworld Dreams. Their tap list is ridiculous right now.

 

Anyone know if Haole Punch cans are in stock anywhere in Oakland or SF? In Oakland right now waiting for Beer Rev to open while I have breakfast.
