New year, new thread.
At the end of last week, I picked up 4 bottles of Lagunitas Gnarleywine from Royal Liquor in SJ. Looking forward to trying my first one soon!

Got this for $4.99/bottle at TJ's in Santa Cruz!
Anyone know if City Beer has announced their last day at the current location?
They should be in their new spot in April.
Anyone notice that Knee Deep stopped dating their bottles? Sad, because I really liked buying fresh stuff from them.
I think I remember this happening with them a couple years ago for a brief time then the dates came back. Weird.
Where's City Beer moving to?
1148 Mission, between 7th and 8th Streets.
Not the greatest part of SF, but hopefully that will change with CBS moving there and a couple other restaurants.
Anybody know if I can still find Willetized anywhere in SF or East Bay?
Total Wine (Fremont) still had a pile of full case boxes on the floor Sunday. $11.99 per sixer.
@Highbrow Thanks but I should have been more clear as the East Bay is a big place.
Anybody know if I can still find Willetized anywhere in SF, Berkeley or Oakland?
Anyone here drinking Henhouse Brewing cans from Santa Rosa? Seems they are all the way to Sacramento now. I assume they are in most places in the SF Bay Area as well.
Most I have had range from average/solid to good. The Kubrik's Landing IPA was pretty solid this weekend.
Looks like they are pretty close to opening a 2nd location in Santa Rosa as well for more production.
Yep, I buy every can that comes to SF. Looks like Stoked Mosaic this week.
Going to try the Henhouse IPA this week, picked some up over the weekend at Monument Wine & Spirits in Concord. Also, they're the only place around that I've seen with Pseudo Sue and other Toppling Goliath beers.
HenHouse has been really hit or miss for me. Their Stoked! single hop series is absolutely awesome but their other offerings (Incredible Pale Ale, Going Clear, Chemtrails) were really just average to me.
Anyone see any HMB Take it to the Limit on a shelf somewhere? I called the tasting room in Berkeley and they seemed to be out of it.
I don't think there's a Local Brewing thread in the Pacific forum so I'm dropping this here. Everyone in the bay area should go to Local Brewing and try Turbid Theory and Something About Berry. Two great brews.
Looks like nice diverse tap list. Anything available packaged?
Maplewood Liquors in San Jose had a few bottles on the shelf when I was there about 5 days ago.
Grabbed two bombers of Citra DH Psuedo Sue at the Whole Foods in Walnut Creek last night. I already threw away the receipt, but I think they were $9.99 a piece.
Yeah they have cans and crowlers for most of their brews.
Firestone Walker Wookus just hit SF?
Firestone's beer locator says it's at Healthy Spirits Valencia and Faletti Foods DMV. Should mean it'll be hitting other spots soon!
Just came from the Total Wine in Pleasant Hill and they have a lot of Wookus on hand.
Wookus is just Wookie Jack right?
Modified recipe of Wookie Jack. I definitely will get a 4 pack.
Pizza Port, Queen Of The Coast @ Mr.Kegs, one of the best WC DIPAs, that I have had in a very long time. Collaboration with Ventura's Madewest Brewing. A 9% DIPA brewed with honey, its good.
Damn it. I was just there (@MrKegs) yesterday and didn't think about this one. Will have to look for it tomorrow. By the way this is the Bay Area thread. I don't think Mr Kegs is in the bay area.
Picked up two of these and looking forward to trying them even more now. Like the can too. Let's see how it compares to Hopslam.
I just noticed that, mod's can remove as the wish........
Picked up Revision Planetary Fog, New Glory Do You Even Denali Broh, Sentry and Word Cloud cans at K&L, good selection right now.
Hopslam cans haven't been available yet and I couldn't wait any longer to side by side it with Queen of the Coast so I had a can last night. Damn good beer. Wish I had picked up more than two cans. Also had a Wookus can last night, great beer too.
Picked up some more Pizza Port Queen of the Coast cans along with New Glory Galactic Worms, Evil Twin Ceci N'est Pas A and Toppling Goliath MoZee from K&L, good selection right now. I'm triple posted in this thread, someone else buy something and post about it.
You didn't get your Hypeslam from them? They just got it in.
Decided not to buy any Maltslam this year. Pizza Port Queen of the Coast will have to be my substitute.
Some Brooklyn Brewery and Bottle Logic stuff showed up at City Beer (probably because of Beer Week). Got a bottle each of Black Ops, The Spice Must Flow, Darkstar November, Backwards Compatibility, and two pours of Pliny the Younger. Sometimes I love Beer Week...
Sucaba is in town, Santa Clara.
However, I must report that this Sucaba seems different than year's passed. Initial aroma is big almond, coconut and classic firestone character. But as the beer goes on it feels tame, mild, predictable, and not vey remarkable considering it's status and previous vintages. Still good!
Sucaba is a beer that really improves with age. Like most barleywines I like it with at least 18-24 months in the bottle.
