Nail on the head pretty much. No disrespect to TW, but to me the most fun ones to go to are the places that have it on tap that day. So even if you don't get bottles you still get to try it. Plus you're drinking a huge beer at like 11 am, so...that's kinda fun. I mean if you have that day off then what else are you gonna do besides put up Christmas decorations right?

Seriously though, coffee is gonna be hard to find.

That's the beauty of it. If I can get a bottle or two that morning at boring ol' Total Wine, I can then go to one of the other shops that may be pouring and not feel like I have to get in line for the bottles.

Basically what I am going for. That's actually how I tried Mexican Cake for the first time, by happy accident. They were doing the BA Bottle release and had four variations on tap. I went later in the day just to try it. Sucks coffee will be hard to find though :slight_frown:

Glass Jug just replied to me on Facebook. Regular bottles are 9.95.

A bit of a tangential question here.

Last year Beer Study had BCBS on tap going through a coffee filled randall. It was the first time I had BCBS and it was fantastic. If anyone who has had coffee BCBS and might have been at that event I'd love to hear a comparison. A few months later I came across some bottles of BCBS (not a variant) in a shop and compared to what I remembered from having it on tap I was actually disappointed.

Is it weird that they got three bottles of rare, but none of the other variants?

Since this will be my first time experiencing this beer, what makes it rare?

All I know is what is posted on the other thread:

"Goose Island Rare Bourbon County Brand Stout, which is being aged for two years in 35-year-old Heaven Hill whiskey barrels."

I assume the bolded part is the selling point.

That seems like a really high limit to me, considering most places were doing at most 4 bottle limits last year with smaller bottles. Hopefully that means they're getting a lot.

Yeah i've seen most places with a two bottle limit, I am getting there early to at least try it on draft if I cant get a bottle.

From the wording of the original post it seems that the opportunity to purchase bottles is dependent on winning a raffle. How that works exactly, I am not sure, but it seems that doesn't start until 11am

"Black Friday release of Bourbon County! We will have '14 and '15 on tap with donuts and coffee available. We will open at 9am and begin the raffle to purchase Bourbon County at 11am. More info to come on how we will do this!"

Wow. I see 14 cases. So enough for 42 4 bottle allotments. That's impressive. Didn't realize they moved that much GI stuff.

so ready. I wonder how Much the pours will be. I was expecting the bottles to be a bit more considering the hype.

Beer Study always has some of the best prices around.

This is true, but even the Glass Jug is selling the regulars for maybe a dollar more. I think I was expecting the 15 dollar a bottle range.

Has anyone checked if Beer Study is doing a raffle for the regular, or just for Rare? Also, any word on when the release is happening at Sam's Quik Shop?
