Oh my. delicious. Though it's hard to figure if this will be a System of a Stout or a Still Life in terms of how it fly's off the shelves.
i assume it will be somewhere in between
Something tells me a milk stout will sell better than a smoked stout, so I would agree with moonknight31 that it will fall in between.
while I was down in SoCal for DDG Still Life was on shelves almost everywhere I went. Was that not the case for SoaS?
System of a Stout flew off of shelves and out of Beachwood's hands. Yeah, I think this will definitely sell better than Still Life but maybe not as quickly as SoaS
It does seem that Udder Love is constantly on tap at BW Long Beach. So I'm not sure how that will play into it all. Considering you could get a growler of it fairly easily.
Also, they're releasing the next batch of Melrose bottles the same day.
What are the prices going to be for Udder Love and Melrose bottles?
MSRP for Udder Love was listed at $8 in another thread.
I seriously doubt a Beachwood beer will be $8 dollars.
I'll believe it when I see it..
it's ok would not pay 8 dollars a bottle maybe 5 udder love milk stout
melrose goes for 8 or 9 bucks a bomber no limit last time at the brewery
8 at the brewery. 9 elsewhere. good luck.
Get ready to believe it, and worth every penny, BW 's IPA's are a bargain as far as I'm concerned.
I think he meant that NO SHOP will let this go at $8 a bottle. Gonna be $9.99 everywhere.
Oh, yea, that probably is accurate,I just go to the source most of the time but I do pick up bottles at WF and have no problem with the price considering the quality and consistency and I like to support Josh and his efforts to offer an amazing beer selection.
That's exactly what I'm saying. When has any shop listen to msrp. LOL
Still life didn't move even close to as fast as System, it was closer to full metal. I was at the LB location two weeks ago for growler fills and had a milk stout, not sure what the name was, im guessing this was it; truly a fantastic brew. These will fly off the shelves.
Westy 12 bricks.
I've seen Still Life and FMJ as recently as two weeks ago on a store shelf. The last batch of Thrillseeker lingered on the shelf longer than I expected it to as well. I'm not so sure Udder Love will disappear so quickly.
i still see still life and fmj every time i go to my two local liquor stores
Excited about this release. Should be delicious!
They are great for sure, but bargain? Not so much. At the prices I've seen them for on the shelf, it would cost about $30 for almost the equivalent of a sixer (in terms of ounces). 30 bones!!! The average price for a sixer of IPA is about $12 so one would have to cough up about 250% to drink bottled Beachwood IPA. I love them and all, but I'm going to stick to drinking them at the pub.
Gota chime in here, You really cant compare Six pack Beer to Bombers pricing. different animal entirely. Ex: Sculpin 6packs $16 Sculpin Bombers $8. Oh and which beer is on par in a sixer with BWs IPAS? Id pay more happily
Come to my shop youll get it from between 8-8.99 IF that truly ends up the pricing on invoice and im lucky enough to get some (never really know till it arrives). Gabes pricing is actually very fair, Id imagine since he did the retail side of this biz for so long he understands the problems. Id almost guarantee that the shops your getting it from are a bit on the shady side to begin with. If you see a bottle of founders sitting next to it thats a good sign. Beachwoods beers are finally starting to gain the notoriety they deserve as being one of the best period. So a black market is popping up with it, alot of retailers are going to the brewery picking it up at 8 and then adding a mark up from there. hence the higher prices people havel seen on the Beachwood Beers (not all cases mind you, some have higher mark ups obviously). Although truthfully at much higher pricing it will still sell out in an hour. Those beers are getting in very high demand.
Yep, in most cases
You're right about the premium charged for the bomber format--they'll always be more expensive compared to a sixer of the same beer. If you're going to compare Sculpin at 8 and a Beachwood IPA at 10, then I'd easily pay the extra $2 for the better beer. However, the consumer's faced with the very real choice of choosing between a high priced bomber and sixer of competitive product. I'll choose the better value almost all the time and leave the premium-priced stuff for the occasional splurge purchase. I'd imagine I'm not alone in that regard.
As for what's comparable? Well, Lagunitas Sucks would be a good start when it's around. Also, Double Jack 4-packs are still almost half the price of a Beachwood IPA on a store shelf.
Zerric I'm sure most shops mark there price at 30% am I correct?
So I'm saying that if its at a 30% mark up it will be closer to the 10 price point..(not knowing the cost already. But if its 8 dollars at the brewery it will be 8 dollars everywhere, cause I know most Brewery sell there beers at the same profit margin as retail shop. I also agree Beachwood is finally getting the notoriety they deserve..
Ok.... you got me on that one. But that's only once for a over hype over priced beer!
Can I ask what your shop is? If its not far, I'm always up for finding new shops to support.
I suddenly got cravings for coffee and milk stouts again after a stint with IPA's and sours. Damn, I got a wishy-washy palate.
Stearns Liquor, and I just got the order, they are both on the shelves now at $8.99
Just picked up bottles at Beachwood, and had a pint with lunch. Great stuff.
8.99 at most shops. 8 at BWSB & BWLB.
8.99 @ most shops. . . . .
Yea I got a case of udder love and melrose at beachwood long beach
