Beatification trade value.... seeking some education

Your beers are adequate you just joined the party a little late (a lot late comparatively). You should be able find a taker but it may take a post or two.

 

A lot of those have Venn Diagram issues (although not everyone in the Bay Area belongs to the RS, many do) and some of the rest of the list I wouldn't even consider trading mine for (the shelf Founders stuff, for instance). But a good number of those ought to be able to do it.

I think the real issue is that right now Bay Area traders are pretty sated. I sent out four boxes last weekend and could end up sending another two out this weekend, so at this point it would take a pretty awesome offer for me to consider trading just because of fatigue. But there's plenty of beat out there and you'll find some if you're patient.

 

i traded 2 beatifications for 2 brambles in person. i'm sure others would do the same trade.

 

You're offering plenty of good stuff, but as Stu mentioned, your list contains a lot of beers most bay area BAs already have or have tried a dozen times, and a lot of people with Beat are overwhelmed with trades. One of these should get the job done eventually:

It's not going to be easy. It's not just that Beatification just came out and is plentiful, but that Beatification is a phenomenal beer. You're going to have to find a certain individual that wants to part with it for one of those beers. It could take some time for that person to see it.

 

Just happy to see that all the responses to the OP's question have been very helpful and not sarcastic.

 

This is what confuses me about trading. Better Half I got for $18, Beat is $15...the only difference is you have to go to RR to get Beat where as Better Half you could get anywhere albeit a limited amount....so that makes it that much more rare? I am assuming a lot of Cali BA members live pretty close to the RR brewery.

 

Bad assumption. RR is kind of out of the way from any major cities. It's at least an hour from the Bay area (SF and Oakland).

There's the other answer. Many more Cali BA's are from SoCal (from what I've noticed) than from NorCal. Los Angeles is about 5 (6?) hours away, and add a couple more hours onto that trip to get there from San Diego. California is kind of a big state, if you weren't aware.

 

Well why don't all you SoCal residents do us a favor and move closer to RR?

Hey, what was not mentioned was Timing! When a big release first hits, it's insanity on the trade boards. There is no balance, or self control. Some folks freak out and HAVE to get the latest IT bottle, CBS, Black Note, Beat, etc.... They then offer up WAAAAAY to much for it. But, that offer is then accepted as the starting point for most folks that have the bottles in hand in what they will accept. The hole can only grow deeper from there.

But, after the smoke clears, I'm talking 2-3 weeks depending, most reasonable trading resumes. So, don't sweat if if you don't lock down a trade in the within a few days of the release. Hell, as proven, you're probable better off to NOT engage in inflated trading. Just hang in there, it'll happen.

 

I wonder if a lot of people assume this. It certainly explains some threads over the past few days.
