Simmering beef stew with 6 ozs of Spaten Optimator and organic beef broth base as we speak. The smell during the alcohol burn off was incredible. Bready, sweet, herbal. So aromatic it was inspiring, and I still smell it now. I should mention, the Optimator I used dates back to a June 2012 Spaten variety pack purchase. It definitely has gotten better with age, and I think it will certainly add a delicious element to this stew.
