George W gave up drinking and Obama has a home brew kit at the White House. Apparently Washington brewed beer and distilled whiskey at Mount Vernon, and Jefferson made wine.

This seems like a really convenient way for the author to simply continue the stereotype of political parties.

Beer and politics have no place together. Let me drink my beer without having to hear politics, thank you.

It's a crappy adjunct that makes the beer far less palatable.

Nah I think that being able to mix in politics reminds us just how great our hobby is. Deep conversations over a pint can be an extremely rewarding endeavor, especially with open minded individuals.

I think beer and politics go hand in hand. Being enlightened both politically (i'm a raging liberal), and beer-wise (i love craft ales, esp blue moon) just kind of makes sense. The opposite also is true. Republicans drink BMC because lets face it, as with a lot of things they just don't know any better.
