Taking my father in law to a game. What's the best bet for beer on a Sat around 4 p.m. I was thinking of going to Fulton. Or should we go somewhere else?

I haven't been inspired by the beer scene near Target Field. Not a Fulton fan, but from the outside it looks cool. Kiernan's is good if you are okay with a Stella and same for Hubert's if Two Hearted will be enough.

My best experiences in the area have been oddly enough at Black Sheep Pizza on Washington. Last year they had Surly Five on tap and do a good job putting local beers out there. I believe Furious and Cynic are permanent, but have also had Flat Earth as well.

Amazing coal oven pizza, not too expensive either considering the local ingredients. Killer ice cream sandwiches.

Just for my own curiosity I looked at their Twitter feed, and it appears that Black Sheep has Badger Hill Minnesota Special Bitter and Summit Saga.

You should be able to find a number of beers worth drinking at any of these options:

    MacKenzie's
    Haute Dish
    The Butcher and the Boar
    Rock Bottom Brewery

These options are all within walking distance of the stadium. The Butcher and the Boar is a bit further away, but definitely worth the effort. Fulton is a great option, too. Black Sheep tends to have a few good beers, but they only have a couple to choose from. Their pizza is as good as it gets.

Fulton is a good choice, nice space and good beer. Rock Bottom isnt far from the field and I enjoy their beer as well. Mackenzies is also close, they have a nice selection of craft beer.

Oh yeah, Butcher and the Boar! Great draft selection and a huge beer garden. Food there is awesome as well. Haute Dish is another worthy option with good food and good beer.

Rock Bottom. Ive only been there about five time in my life, but they had a seasonal IPA in June that may/may not have been the best IPA I have ever had. I dont recall what it was called of course. Prices are very affordable too.

Black Sheep is great. Public House a few doors west is a bit of a hidden gem also, they curate a solid list. Cuzzy's is super fun.

I HATE having to pay for parking. I drove around for probably 30 minutes and the best i did was park in a ramp by Rock Bottom. Think it was 8 bucks. That was the best I saw unless you really get out a ways im guessing.

Weekends you can park for free on 5th Street on the other side of 10th Ave. I wouldn't park down there for a night game, but it is fine for daytime. Otherwise I park on 4th St in the lot underneath the ramp that becomes 394 for $5. You are between Black Sheep and Fulton, actually walk by Fulton.

My favorite beer bar closest to the field is McKenzies hands down.

I usually park east of Washington by the river and hoof it over to Fulton. Plenty of spots and the meters are maybe a buck an hour.

The Dayton's/Marshall Field's/Macy's ramp (between 7th St & 8th St, east of Hennepin) is $5 after 4pm on week days and all weekend.

Fulton is the only place we've gone this season, & I don't see that changing anytime soon. Before Fulton we'd haunt Rock Bottom, always good, underrated beer there.

McKenzie's? After the prices they were charging for one-offs a couple years ago, I haven't been back.

Might I suggest drinking hemlock if you are going to drink something before watching the Twinkies.
