I've never had a beer that I thought was better on tap than from a fresh/well cellard bottle. Almost everyone I know thinks this way, thought this was a pretty common theme. Can't control the taps but you can control the bottle.

I prefer bottle because you control the temperature of where you would like to drink it at. Tapped beer always seems a little too cold for me.

I've had better (when fresh) bottles of Hoponius Union than any of the drafts I've had.

SN Celebration always seems better in a bottle than draft to me.

And those first bombers of Sculpin that came to MA were way better than the draft we see lately - but I think that's a completely different story. ;-)

Loved Sculpin on draft several years ago during trips out west. But bottle & draft Ive had locally in the Boston area the past year have been stale & a shell of its former self.

This has to be one of the most miserable occurences ever beer is suppose to always be better on tap and yet I find myself wishing I had the bottle I had weeks ago although this porter is tasting better the longer it sits (obviously haha) but still ghe bottle I had id it was amazing from the first drop

Just curious, but how did you determine that the lines were clean? Were you able to go behind the bar to investigate from tap to keg?

I've tried that myself at a few bars and was quickly shown to the exit.

I had a Sculpin at Armsby Abbey recently that was disappointing even compared to the bottles we're getting now. I know they clean the heck out of their taps. I assume it was just an older keg, but still a bit of a bummer.
