Beer Careers in NJ

    anyone know how easy it is to get or how many opportunities open up for a beer buyer/replenishment position

    I work for Whole Foods and these positions do not open up EVER...they usually have someone who is next in line for the job. I guess it really depends on who you would be trying to work for.

    Except for the AB-Inbev plant in Newark, all NJ brewery's are tiny so it would help to be the owners son.

    Better start working at a liquor store for years. Been doing it for 2 and have far more beer drinking experience knowledge than anyone working currently in the area but just not enough experience on paper.

    Start letting it be known that you want to work in a brewery. Let the homebrew store owner know, let brewers know, hell, let beer store owners know. Eventually you might get hired to move kegs or label bottles. From there you'll be given more things to do if you don't suck. That's how I got in.
