Was thinking of trying to do a nice date night with the wife and of course I would like to have a little craft beer slant to it...anyone done a nice three-four spot hop for good beer, dinner, dessert? Or have a good idea for one?

Would love to get a thread going where people throw out some awesome days/evenings where you can walk to a few places and get great beer and food in certain neighborhoods...

    Great one for lower QA:
pre dinner beer @ red papaya
dinner w/ beers @ the masonry
    dessert @ Yeti Yogurt
post dinner beer @ Jabus or Mecca

    Fremont and Joule/Whale Wins.
Noble Fir, Reubens and Staple & Fancy.
    Burgundian and MKT.
    Bottleworks and Bizarro.

Not walking distance, but I think my wife and I are doing Holy Mountain and Brimmer & Heeltap on Saturday.

It isn't really walking distance but Un Bien (I know I'm not alone in saying Paseo 2.0 recipes did not live up to the original ... it's nice to have the real deal back) will be great for grabbing a sandwich and heading to any of the nearby Ballard Breweries or Chuck's which is nearby too.

Gotta go to Hot Cakes for dessert for any Ballard crawl.

I think we all know the good beer spots by now, so I'll talk about restaurants.

I'll give a shout-out to a couple places we've been happy to return to (both of which also usually have something reasonably interesting on tap): Luc in Madison Valley and Roux in Fremont. Service is usually good, atmosphere's comfortable, and the food's tasty and maybe a little more substantial than what you might get at other places. One thing that kind of annoys me after dropping three figures (or close) on dinner is feeling a temptation to go get a Dick's Deluxe afterward.

Speaking of which, this year is the 60th anniversary of Dick's Drive-In. I think some local brewery should do a special beer to commemorate this milestone.

And, what's up with how they always check your cash against the light when you pay for your food? I bought two cheeseburgers and they scanned my $5 bill. Like is there a local counterfeiting ring that launders its money exclusively through local grease-bomb burger joints?

Isn't someone who would counterfeit $5 bills exactly the kind of person who would use Dick's to launder their money?

Good call on Roux. Had brunch there last weekend and it was awesome. Can't beat some beignets and a po' boy. Super filling meal though. Don't think any of the 7 guys at brunch finished their plates.

Love the idea! I think it should be one of the older breweries, Pike, Hales, places like that.

Just so they don't try to make a beer that actually tastes like a Dick's burger. So Rogue would be out.

Which brewery is actually closest to a Dicks?

Elliott Bay LCW is within a few blocks, but they don't bottle (in case that matters). There's one on Capitol Hill, just a few blocks from Elysian, but I doubt their AB overlords would go for that. They have a location near Wallingford, closest brewery there would probably be Big Time. Another location in Queen Anne, nothing I can think of there (high rent district). And one location in Edmonds, a couple miles from American Brewing.

Why not have each of them make a Dick's anniversary beer?

Good call, they're old school to fit @beertunes criteria. They can call the beer "Two Dicks at Once" or something simple like that. That would sell, right?

La Isla for Dinner (maybe a rum drink not beer, love that food tho)
