This is how it appears on my phone as well - see the bottom three rows
I bumped the text up just a bit.
It's now bolded.
Agreed. Take a look at the ordering now.
Done. Let me know if that's what you had in mind, because I like it.
Much better - thank you sir!
Looks very good and easier on the eyes.
The longer strings still have some wrapping issues, which puts the downstream stuff out of kilter. Might be my ancient (by today's standards) Samsung Galaxy S7.
ETA: If the words Location and Availability are problematic, maybe replace with Where and When, respectively?
Yeah. Just a little ancient. I might try some abbreviated terms.
@riptorn: Try now. It even looks acceptable on my ancient iPhone 5s that I use for testing.
Closed the page, cleared Chrome cache, re-opened with same result. Landscape is fine, portrait presents the issue.
"Location" label no longer displays on my desktop, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups (actually, Win7 Pro) or my laptop (Win 10 Pro), but still displays on the S7.
That label was removed; it's blank. It just displays the location now.
User error. I just now cleared the BA browsing data and it's all good now in both landscape and portrait.
Caching happens. Glad it's fixed. I can now use this as a base for future tweaks.
Yep. Pretty sure I only cleared cookies the first go 'round. Thanks for the follow through.
Thanks, @Todd. Looks good! Always appreciate the evolution of the site and additional data. Can I make two wish-list suggestions?
1. Bring back the histograms
2. Create a graph/histogram mapping ratings over time to show the ratings trend for a specific beer, which I think would be fascinating to see (Yelp does something similar).
Think you should just make the larger Brewery (under the beer name) clickable, instead of listing it a second time further down the list?
That would also be redundant as the brewery name in the top breadcrumb navigation has always been clickable.
We plan to bring them back in some form.
Hmm...for some reason I never use that. If I can change my habits, using that will make life easier.
Looks good, especially with the most recent tweaks.
I consider myself low maintenance and never complained about how things looked in the past (and did plenty or reformatting on my own if I was on a PC). But this is a nice update -- I love that on my (relatively ancient) phone, without scrolling I see my rating along with both overall and style ranking. Those three numbers will pretty much tell me if I want to buy something. So bonus points for "efficient format". If you can just roll bar code scanning in here this will be perfect.
That's an app feature.
Looks great. Now I'm just sad I haven't had the #1 ranked American Lager though!
3 of the top 4 are in almost any gas station or grocery store in New England. Probably could set up a deal pretty easily!
I didn't mind it before, but I like how it looks now. Thanks!
I just added this. A tooltip will now be displayed upon mouseover for all stat terms and values.
(If you don't see it, log in. Otherwise a hard refresh or clearing your cache will force the update.)
I think it looks great. Nice job!
Have you thought about enhancing the Too Beers pages? It would be great to add some filters. I think most valuable for most of the beer geeks would be a filter to only shows beers I have not had. I have seen this on other sites and it is very useful. Thank you.
I unfortunately had some problems with the beta version, uninstalled it, but lost my invitation (and thought it was closed anyway). So I guess I'll just have to be patient. Cheers and thanks!
We're talking about two completely different things here; updates to beer pages on the site vs. an app feature that's not a part of the site or will be. For app feedback and updates, please see the Society forum. Thanks!
Didn't the brewery's website used to appear under the brewery's link WRT each of the brewery's beers? I could swear that it did! If not, it should. If it did, I would like to see it return.
Here is why: If I want to see if the brewery's site has any useful info that does not appear in the Notes, by clicking on the website link, I CAN open a new tab for that site & CANtinue with my review. As it currently works, clicking on the brewery's name kicks me out to their master listing, where the brewery site link does appear, but then I lose my review. 8=(
Very, very smooth. Easy read. Flows nicely.
Love the look!
Can you please bring back the "Top Beers by State" lists. Those pages were heavily studied by me before every vacation.
It's there, just select USA and another pull down menu will appear where you can select states.
Thanks! I guess it wasn't intuitive to me.
Note: the pulldowns weren't part of the recent updates.
I like it. Good work, BA!
BA...Ever evolving. I love it when that happens! Kudos!
I like it, all the details are right there.
