I have a friend headed down this way tomorrow (we're from PA). He offered to pick up some beer for me, but I don't want him to go out of his way at all. What's the selection like in the local Harris Teeter? I also found a place called Kegs & Kans? I was hoping to get something that I can't get up here like Sweet Water, Terrapin, or Cigar City. Thanks!

Sweet water and Terrapin, yes; CCB, no. Local Harris Teeters usually have Big Boss beers (Badpenny is good) and Lonerider (I like Sweat Josie Brown, Peacemaker Pale, and Deadeye Jack Porter).

If he can get me a six pack of Sweetwater Ipa, that would be good enough for me. Thanks.

If your friend has time, tell him to check out Aviator brewing company, I've never been myself, but why not? It could be a good time.

He doesn't even drink beer, but he's been there before. He had the Ghost Chili wings.

I live close to there. Aviator makes pretty good beer. My favorites are their Hogwild IPA and Devil's Tripel. You can get them in 22oz bottles or growlers at the tap house. Do not go to Kegs & Kans, selection is terrible. You would be better off sending him to Harris Teeter. If he will go a little out of his way your best bet would be The Beer Dispensary in Apex or a little further would be Tasty Beverage Company in downtown Raleigh.

If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, Harris Teeter. You'll probably be able to find mix packs of Highland, Lonerider, and Sweetwater. They'll definitely have a good selection of big boss as well. They may have Triangle breweries White and Belgian golden in cans. Probably also be able to find Carolina Pale Ale, Carolina Nut Brown Ale, and Carolina IPA. If he's willing to make a short trip to the nearest Total Wine, he'll be able to pick up just about anything from NC that's in rotation, and since you can mix you're six there you'll be able to do the most sampling.

On a side note, I'm from PA originally. All of my family is still in Elk County. It's good to see NC beer making back to PA.
