Pretty sure Stoneybrook had it earlier this week.
It hasn't hit Peony Park yet (probably due to the abundance of Rubaeus/Curmudgeon/Double Trouble they're still working on moving).
Yeah I've noticed a lot of the Hy-Vees are sitting on the old seasonals for Founders. Can't see that Devil Dancer moving at all.
I might have to check this out, as I love Curmudgeon with like 3+ years on it. Totally assumed it was all gone!
The distributor still has a fair amount of Curmudgeon. Should be around for a while.
Has anyone seen any Odell Woodcut #7 out there? I think the last time I saw it at the Stony Brook Hyvee was in July or so.
Ha, I've been looking out for it as well since Jake's sold the bottles I was cellaring on their shelves. I fear it may be long gone as there's none at Stony Brook, Peony Park, 180th and Pacific, either Brix, Cubby's...
How about Woodcut #8? Just found out about it last week and it sounds delicious.
Maybe Whole Foods? Only other idea I have.
I always forget about Whole Foods. Wandered over on my lunch break today. No Woodcut, but they had a couple of this year's Terra Incognita hanging out in the cooler. I know Nebraska got very little of it for whatever reason, and I'd missed out on it so far, so I grabbed one of those, making it not a wholly unrewarded endeavor. There were two more on the shelf when I left, so go get 'em if you want 'em.
Yeah, nice score! We got 1 case at Beertopia
I forget what the state got but it was very low
Is Terra Incognita not a foamy mess this year? No wonder there was an Untappd badge to try and move units last time around. I still see old bottles out here on store shelves.
I have a buddy who will be home for Thanksgiving and was wondering if anything special was going on for BCBS release. I'm assuming it will just be the same as last year but figured I'd ask. Also, is Abyss releasing same day or same week?
I thought it was much better this time around. Though it also tasted like an entirely different beer compared to the first one.
Any Big Sky Ivan the Terrible sightings?
Should get ours tomorrow (word of warning, I am 99.9% sure that this is not barrel-aged)
Nothing special for the BCBS release. Black Friday like last year. Abyss should be early/mid December, Dissident should be before that. BA Narwhal sounds like early November.
Sounds like a small amount of Founder's Harvest should hit Omaha late this week/early next week.
That's all I can think of right now.
Thanks Jason, all good info to know. Re: the Narwhal, do you expect the maple beer they are releasing to be here as well?
Also, I haven't researched much into what the BC variants are for this year but I feel like we didn't get as many variants as we should have last year. Hopefully not the same outcome this year!
I think I heard that the bourbon barrel maple beer is going to be brewery only release. Could be wrong, but I know it'll be a lot more limited than BA Narwhal.
The Barrel-Aged Narwhal will see a limited national release, while the Barrel-Aged Maple Stout is sticking around our brewery Gift Shops and in Berkeley at our Torpedo Room.
Thanks, I had only seen that picture and not the accompanying caption.
Bourbon county 2014 lineup:
Stout (2013 dropped on BF)
Barleywine (2013 dropped on BF)
Coffee (2013 NE saw highly limited amounts)
Vanilla Rye (replaces 2013 Backyard that dropped late Dec or in Jan).
Propritor's (Chicago only. Go there to get it!)
Des Moines and Iowa City get tons more Bourbon County as they are closer to Chicago.
I hope we get a decent amount of vanilla rye and coffee!
If we get any it is a decent amount!
Thanks, it was coffee that I didn't see any of last year. Hope that changes this year.
Anyone know if Schlafly TIPA is in CB yet?
Seeing how I'll be in Omaha on Black Friday, what places tend to get BCBS? Beertopia? Whole Foods? HyVee? Brix? Just looking to score one bottle of whatever is available to drink with family, not checking bags or anything.
All of the above
Big Sky Ivan the Terrible is coming to Omaha?
we've had it for years. 4pks seasonally and just a bit of the BA bombers when they are released.
I'll keep my ear to the ground. Thanks.
Looking like I have to be out in Omaha on business 11/18-11/19. Not confirmed yet but looking that way. What is the best bottle shop for selection in the area?
I'll vote for Beertopia but I am biased
I would also check out @bditty187's (Brent's) store the Mall of the Bluffs Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits off of Exit 5 I-80E in Iowa.
-Jason at Beertopia
I snagged some big sky ivan the terrible at beertopia tonight [cheers bretthead! I was hoping to meet you but I hear you work days]. they have an amazing selection at great prices. I'm very impressed. in PA, we pay a LOT MORE for beer, so reasonably priced brews that I can take home via checked baggage/boxes is great.
Looks like I missed out on Founders Harvest at Beertopia, anyone else seen it around? I know they don't produce a lot of it so not expecting much but thought I'd ask.
Fingers crossed we might get a little more on Tuesday. We also have a 1/4 bbl that has not gone on yet at Moon.
Are we getting any Laguintas Born Yesterday? Gotta love fresh hop season
CA, WA, and OR only
bummer, was hoping we might get lucky with that one
hoping boulevard last splash is good
It's on tap right now at Bottleworks and Toronado by my house. Pretty good, but not even close to the best of the fresh hops this year.
Yep. I got the Schlafly Tasmanian IPA yesterday.
Good! I went back to buy more from Broadway last night and they were out. Loving that beer right now.
