I have seen a few places starting to setup events on Facebook already. I know we will be having tastings everyday and a cellar sale on Wednesday.

Also a thousand bars will be tapping their kegs of BCBS over the course of the week.

Can't wait for those good Mardi Gras events during OBW. Nothing to celebrate craft beer like cheap Abita pints!

Hopefully the Moon does the Barrel Age Beer night again....that was one of my favorite events.

IN for cognac BA Abyss. Are these 100% BA or just blends?

They will, although so far the beers are shaping up to be less interesting than last year

I shouldn't get my hopes up for any TG kegs during OBW, right? Figured it was a very long shot.

THIS....Really hoping to see kegs at Extreme Beer Fest at the least......hoping being the key word. Would love to try some of the beers that usually require long trips to Decorah.

Really excited for Extreme Beerfest this year with the recent distro we're getting. Probably a long shot, but also hoping Kinkaider and Scratchtown bring in some of their BA stuff.

Way wrong Extreme Beer Fest. I got roped into that link and my extreme joy as to the breweries listed was short lived. But Toppling Goliath is slated to attend Omaha's Extreme Beer Fest, so I wonder if they will pull out of that too for the same reasons.

BUT, if TG doesn't pull out of Omaha EBF, what are the chances they bring some King Sue or something new/special (gasp, MD  ). Have they ever attended before, and if so anyone remember what they brought?

*EDIT* Should have read a few posts before mine guys asking the same questions on TG Kegs. Ignore Me.

TG has attended the past 3 years. They did bring a few bottles of MD in 2012 (along with other beers) and Sosus/Zeelander in 2013; as far as I'm aware/remember, last year they brought Sue, Golden Nugget, Dorothy's, and maybe Rover Truck. It'd be fun, but I wouldn't anticipate anything too crazy.

TG brought a keg of SR-71 to extreme one year.

Was a growler of SR-71 IIRC and that was before SR-71 was used to describe extended BA assassin. It was an unbarreled beer according to Clark. @tgchief

What was total number of VIP tickets for this year? Does anyone post what beers available before?

  20. BrettHead

I believe 200 tickets. They sold out in 20 minutes or so. The beer list usually isn't finalized until a week or two before the fest.

Never attended EBF, what is the difference between the VIP tickets and the regular tickets? VIPs get first dibs on beer or different beers altogether?

How did they sell out in 20 mins? I logged in at exactly 10 am and it said it was sold out.... Tried for about 5-10 mins and was never able to purchase VIP.

In the store they lasted until about 10:20. I know the initial amount online did sell out instantly. Our owner came up and grabbed some of our physical tickets so he could put up a few more online, which I am guessing also went instantly.

I was able to buy VIP online right at 10am. Hopefully we see a good amount of rare and BA from breweries.

There are some beers that are VIP only but the biggest benefit I have always thought is that you get to enter the event an hour earlier than GA and you are only "competing" with 200 people for pours instead of 2,000+. You can hit most of your major wants in that first hour from my experience, and take a more relaxed attitude once the horde invades.

My wife got VIP tics for a buddy and me for Christmas. His wife and mine just got regular tics. I am pumped to go as I have never got the VIP tics before and I missed out last year competely.

Some times they will post a digital copy of the EBF program (with beer list) on facebook when they send it to the printers. This is usually just a couple days before the fest. I really appreciate when they do so that I can go in with a game plan. There may be 300 beers, but really you will likely only try 40-60.

If you are going GA you could also get to the venue an hour early and get your program so you can game plan at that time and be at the head of the GA line. Bring a highlighter and a couple pens...

Online was dicey. I got my ticket at 10am, and then was able to purchase another pair for a friend at 10:08. I assume this was either the additional tickets or possibly some people let their cart expire and the tickets returned to the pool. If you are ISO VIP post to the event page on facebook. It isn't uncommon to see some tickets exchanged there as people have things come up can may no longer go.
