Any recommendations for a good place in Rome, Italy for great beer? Thanks in advance!

I was in Rome for a while last year.

For bars, it's all about Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fa. Next door is the excellent Bir & Fud, which specializes in Italian beers primarily and has terrific pizza (get the Napoli).

The bottle shop I thought was best was Johnny's Off License, which is in a kind of obscure neighborhood north of the Vatican, but had by far better prices than Domus Birrae.

Obvious advice, but go all Italian and Belgian.

I can tell you where to get great Pizza in Rome:
    Forno Pizzeria
    Forno
Via San Nicola da Tolentino #53
    (Off Piazza de Barbenini)

For pizza I recomend Dar Poeta. It is one alley over from ma che siete.

Only one I know of -- Open Baladin (just google it). Great stuff on tap and a gazillion bottles of things you've never seen.

Bir & Fud was a huge letdown considering how highly people talk about it. The beer list when we were there was just OK, and the pizza was meh. Maybe it's better at night.

Open Baladin, on the other hand, is awesome. Great vibe, cool decor, and excellent beer. And the bartender gave me a free pour of Xyauyu Fume after I tried the Barrel.

Great recommendations, and I was also going to recommend Bir and Fud as well. I do have a friend living there so I will have to ask if he knows another place other then those from above.

Brasserie 420 is the pub/ restaurant of Revelation Cat brewery, they had a bunch of their beers on tap along with some guest taps. Great stuff!!!
