I saw this topic and I was taken aback. All these years and still such great efforts to pair beer with food. My friends, beer is food. Barley soup is a staple since the old days. It has vegetables, minerals, carbs, my god an endless string of nutrients. Don't pair it, drink it!

But if beer is food shouldn't we eat it instead of drinking it? :p

Any way, the same way you put pasta, meat and vegetables together to make a good meal, why not put a beer in the mix to make an even better meal?

Especially Guinness. It's like a meal in a glass.

I actually agree with this very much in many circumstances. It's a full large big drink most of the time depending, but certain items just pair with beer so nicely.

Often though a meal is really a beer in itself, but there's plenty of exceptions for myself, and some brews just crave food to go with them.

Snooty people have been pairing cheese with wine for a really long time. You wouldn't make fun of them for drinking fermented grape extract fluid with cheese would you?
