I would like to compile a list of beer on a theme of bicycling (or find out if one exists). There is Fat Tire, for example; also Flying Dog Tire Bite, Lost Rhino Face Plant, and the entire brewery in Canada called Red Racer. Any others?

I am more interested in readily available brews than obscure, hard to find; since I want to have recommendations for a bicycling event.

My first thought was to Radler -- a German drink composed of beer and lemony soda such as 7-Up or Sprite. It translates to "cyclist" and was said to originate as a thirst-quenching drink for the rise of recreational bicycling in the early 20th century. I am not sure on the availability of imports and it looks like there is very limited production domestically - I could be wrong.

Cottonwood "Endo" IPA. The character is wearing a helmet on the case. I drank that while camping and riding in Pisgah.

Surprised no one has brought up anything from New Belgium. Fat Tire and Twisted Spoke are the most notable in that regard.

Pedal Pale Ale from East End Brewing Company. The logo is a flower...get it?...pedal/petal. Anyway, they named it in honor of a cycling event meant to promote therapeutic riding.

You're presumably talking about a variation on a "shandy," which I think was said to have been first created when a pub owner mixed lemonade and beer to give to cyclists in need of refreshment after his beer supplies ran too low.

The brewery is actually called Central City, Red Racer is more of a brand/line of beers that Central City brews.

You may want to contact a local brewery to see if they would be willing to make a special beer just for your event. They would get to put up a few banners at the start and finish line, and you guys get a couple kegs of beer for the end of the event.
