I really think Pilsner Urquell tastes great with pizza.
As cliche as it sounds, Peroni does really well with Italian. Never overbearing, accents only.
I really like Victory Prima Pils with pizza.
A Czech pils is what i look to.
Stylistically, IPA's because I like my pizza with jalapenos and sriracha
If your pie happens to be from Chicago, any beer will work... just let the pizza take over. Seriousy though, I agree with the pils suggestion.
A good Pils, APA, IPA, or Vienna does it for me. Depends on toppings, style of pizza, and my mood. I always have each style on hand.
Zombie Dust with pepperoni pizza is one of my favorite pairings
Agreement. Hoppy pils, APA, or IPA. You want something hoppy and spritzy to cut the spicy coating pizza sauce and somewhat oily toppings. I can't imagine anything better with a pepperoni pizza than the Celebration Ale Im drinking right now....
I found a Mama Mia! Pizza Beer that I am dying to try with some pizza soon.
Any IPA or pale Belgian will work, but bear in mind: it depends what's on the pizza - a meater pizza might pair with a heartier beer.
But my contention is that Duvel, specifically, for example, will work with virtually any food - it's a real man's beer (no offense intended to the ladies). It is classy and rugged at the same time - burgers, pizza, steak, fries, or any food you'd pair with wine (*scoffs*) - Duvel will allow you to retain your BA dignity and compliment your dish nicely.
Cold pilz. Peroni draft at pomodoro in little Italy with their vodka sauce slices is my idea of heavem
But when have a choice an aromatic dry fresh single iPa is perfect
Ice cold 'Gansett tall boy with hot pepperoni and sausage please
Something pilsner or wheatish. I'd either say Prima Pils, Lagunitas Pilz, or My Antonia for the former or some Kellerweis or a Paulaner Hefe for the latter.
SNPA most of the time, or some sort of Lager, usually a Vienna, Czech Pils, Dunkel, or even an AAL
Free bottles of expired Raging Bitch. One of the perks of European distro and expiration laws.
You guys are doing it all wrong with the pils, pales, and ipas...seriously, try an amber/red with pizza.
One of the only times I actually like Amber Ales, hoppy or not.
Little Sumpin' Sumpin'
Ya I am with everyone else here, anything not dark really will do, most lagers, pales, IPAs or light belgians go just fine. For me it is usually NG Moon Man with pizza.
Koenig Pils, SNPA, DFH Indian Brown or Oktoberfest styles (with stuffed meat pizza).
Just had a SN Celebration with some pizza last night. 'Twas delicious.
Personally, I think IPAs are kind of like toothpaste in that they make everything else taste a little funny. The darker the better for me with pizza, maybe a low ABV porter like Edmund Fitzgerald or a sweeter stout.
This makes it sound like I don't like IPAs, which is just so wrong.
I'm all about pizza and porters over here. Stack the pie high with sausage and bacon - yes sir.
Maybe it's the ads that I see in different beer publications, but Brooklyn Lager and pizza is awesome.
Sorry, folks. The correct answer is Rare Vos.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Celebration Ale in season
Any IPA and a good flavorfull Pale ale...CHEERS
I really love a big, aggressive IPA/DIPA with pizza. I mean absolutely love it. However, pizza does really well with tons of different beers and the toppings you choose make the difference.
Part of the reason I love the IPA category is I love margherita pizza so the herbal quality of the IPA is awesome with the loads of basil.
Full Sail Session Lager
Gonna have to go with Pliny the Elder on this one. Sculpin is a close second.
