    And the specialties keep comin'...

Love Knife was just recently packaged in 6packs and kegs for limited statewide distribution. Expect to start seeing this (1st time in a bottle) brew throughout Michigan as early as this week.

    Cheers!

Love Knife is a brownish red Belgian ale that explodes with aromas of strawberry, banana, and nectarine. Malt sweetness is quite low, allowing for the fruit flavors to be apparent throughout the beer. One day while looking over popular Belgian beer styles, Tony noted that there were not a lot of Belgian Amber Ales. Therefore, he decided to create a recipe with a malt bill that loosely resembled a typical Amber Ale found in the states. By adding Belgian yeast and American hop varieties, Tony created a uniquely new and different hybridized style. 6.7 % ABV 45 IBU

This sounds like it's pretty juicy. I'll be watching for it.

I love it when Short's does the Belgian styles. This one and Richard in the Dirt are tow of my must-tries this year.

OK, here's another one that will be in my fridge. Actually had this one at the pub and liked it!

Not a fan of Belgians, but I am a huge fan of Giallos. Clearly, this beer derives it's name from the genre. We're going to be up north in a few weeks snowmobiling, looks like a trip to the pub is in order. I'll try the beer, as Short's rarely disappoints, but I'm equally interested in buying a shirt.
"Because I love you so much" great stuff.

Has there been another surprise release of Ale la Reverend? My local bottleshop had a few six packs out on the shelves.

Bottle date is from September 2015 so no, its the same batch that has been sitting in Family Fare for months.

Yeah, I saw that thread where it'd been released to Spartan stores a few months ago. That's why I was surprised to see it a a regular ol' beer store.

Picked up a couple bottles as I usually do with Short's releases. Not normally a big fan of ambers, but this was a really solid beer.

Got a six pack a couple days ago,and I'm glad I did. I was down that Dolly Dagger didn't make the cut this year, Love Knife is right in the same wheelhouse for me. Bring on more Belgian styles!
