    Good afternoon,

In a last minute decision, Uncle Steve's has been bottled and is currently hitting stores throughout the state of Michigan. 660 cases will be distributed.

Uncle Steve's Irish Stout was first brewed on October 17, 2008. The inaugural batch took twice as long to brew on account of Joe forgetting how many bags of grain were being used--despite the stuck mash, it came out just fine and received great acclaim from our clientele.

This year, Uncle Steve's will be featured on nitrogen as well. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the brew!

Uncle Steve's Irish Stout: Short’s version of the classic Irish Stout, complete with a dark color, soft head, and smooth full flavor typical of this lighter bodied style. A simple grist formula provides a base of roasted malt flavors while the infusion of nitrogen adds the creamy drinkability everyone loves.
    4.5% ABV
    20 IBU

Damn, that's not cool. I urge you to pick up a bottle this year, check the code date and give it one more shot. Sorry you dealt with such an unpleasant experience before but that's not how I remember Uncle Steve's to be.

Had the same experience from what I believe was close to 4 years back. Have had it several times since then and never had an issue since. This is a great stout that I can manage to drink several of in a sitting.

Purchased a six pack recently. It's about as classic as a Dry Irish Stout from an American brewery can be. Had no problem drinking 3 in a row. That 4.5% abv helps significantly.

Was it on nitro last year? I remember it being pretty tasty, although didn't know it was such low abv.

It may have been for select places.

I was actually informed that the majority of this year's will be CO2, but you may see both.

Do the bottles/packaging indicate either or? Or is it hit or miss?

I believe bottles are all CO2, limited kegs are NO2.
