Next month I am going to Legoland (in Carlsbad, CA) and DisneyLand (in Anaheim). Any recommendations for stores I can visit while I am there and stock up on beers for the trip and to bring back home with me? Places that allow you to mix-a-six at reasonable prices preferred. In general I want to try a lot of different great beers I would not usually have access to.

Anything specific your looking for? Cans that is.

Not necessarily. I know Russian River is big out there, but my guess is that any good craft beer store will have a good selection from them. My goal is more or less to try as many excellent beers that don't typically make it to where I am in Texas as possible. So local CA breweries mostly, but if I find some gems from surrounding states, all the better.

One of the more well stocked stores in Carlsbad is actually called Texas Wine and Liquor. Maybe 2-3 miles from Legoland. They often have a mix of: very good fresh drops, and alot of old stock. You certainly have to date check there, and the prices are on the high side. Single cans/mixed packs are not readily available around here. You can get singles at Bottlecraft in Oceanside which is maybe 15-20 minutes up the 5 fwy from Legoland. They will have harder to find stuff.

Windsor bottle shop is off the 5 freeway, between both spots.

Windsor Anaheim or Costa Mesa. They usually are pretty good on updating on Untappd. Mr K’s in Placentia is a good stop also. I have Mr Kegs around the block from me, but I’ve been driving the xtra distance to Windsor Costa Mesa or sometimes all the way to Mr K’s. I’ve been to Texas Wine before. Also a good one. Windsor has singles or 4pks.

From Legoland to Disneyland you will be traveling up the 5 and passing an excellent craft beer store which sells single or 4-packs = O'Shea Brew Co at 28142 Camino Capistrano #107, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677 ... very easy freeway access off the 5.

Windsor and Mr K's are excellent too, however O'Shea will be the most convenient based on your route.

If you are going to Windsor Anaheim bottle logic is right there. Ton of great beers with a good selection to go. Same with Mr. K’s being right next to the bruery who have a ton of to go options. Idk how much time you have here but bottle logic, bruery, green cheek, and monkish are all relatively close to each other and have a decent amount of to go beers. All worth a visit.

Modern Times, a short block from Monkish, also has a big selection of their to go beers as does Radiant, about five minutes from Modern/Monkish.

I have to disagree about O’Shea. I live closer to them, but I drive to Windsor. O’Shea’s coolers are really sloppy, nothing is priced, and Windsor has a better selection imho.
