I am traveling to the Hartford area today and was wondering if people who have been through/live in the area could provide some insight on the best stores to go to.

    Thanks

Harvest in West Hartford, Worldwide wine and spirits in Southington, Southington Wine and Spirits, Wallingford Wine and Spirits. Depending in which way you come up Mountainview Plaza in Naugatuck is pretty solid too. Amity in New Haven, stop at Nebco righ around te corner for growlers. Hope that helps. Enjoy the drive.

CT beverage mart in Newington is pretty decent, I guess there is one in New Britain that's a little closer to Hartford, can't say I've ever been to that one though.

Liquor Depot in Canton is pretty legit with decent pricing.

The one in New Britain he is referring to is also a Liquor Depot and yes they're pretty good. Other than Harvest which was already mentioned I'd agree with what's been said that Liquor Depot or CT Beverage Mart (on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington) are the best available selection.

That's not what he's referring to. There is a CT Beverage Mart in New Britain near West Farms Mall. There is also a CT Beverage Mart in Newington on the Berlin Turnpike. The Liquor Depot in New Britain is across town from the CT Beverage Mart.
In the Hartford area, there is also

-Manchester Wine and Liquors in Manchester, CT
-Harvest Wines and Spirits in West Hartford, CT (although expect to pay more)

If you're willing to go a little out of your way, I highly recommend Worldwide Wine and Spirits in Southington, CT, which is about 20 minutes west of Hartford, just off of I-84. Beats all the other stuff in the Hartford area by a lot imo, with exception to maybe Manchester Wine and Spiritis.

I don't know how I misread that so badly but yea. The CT Bev in New Britain isn't really worthwhile. If Worldwide Wine And Spirits is on Queen St. then yes, they have a good selection as well, but I've found they can be a bit pricey on some things. Although that is pretty true for every store mentioned, after all we are in CT.

It might be more correct if he called it the liquor depot in Simsbury, rather than Canton

I think you're thinking of Southington Wine and Spirits. Both Southington Wine and Spirits and Worldwide Wine and Spirits are located on Queen St. They are very close to each other as well. Worldwide is a new store though. It has only been open for 9 months. It used to be a Jaguar dealership. The prices here are very fair, even on the cheaper side.

CT Bev Mart in New Britain isn't great, but they do seem to get every major release, so there's that. I did recently get a bottle of Enjoy By there(surprisingly priced at $7.99). I have seen them do....(thinks for right word)....questionable things though.

Harvest has the friendliest staff and the best selection of fresh and rare beer...hands down! Prices are very competitive to what I've seen around town...

Did they stop selling Stone products? Was in there the other day and could not find anything by Stone, not in the cooler or on the shelf.

I don't think so. Got an Enjoy By there the other day.

Strange... maybe they moved the 6ers from their usual spot in the cooler...
