This might get nuked but, for BA's that drink more than tick n trade. Are there beers that are just so good, that you will drink them vs trade or store away? I picked up some Black Note which I am having a hard time trading vs drinking. Just curious what I am missing. I am obviously not talking about special brewery one offs, but beers that are hard but not impossible for a determined searcher.

This may get scoffed at, but I feel this way about Parabola. I do like cellaring them though.

Why I have some of them stored away I wouldn't trade them (may extra them or something) because they are my favorite and as such what could I possibly get that would be *better*?

Pretty much any beer that I enjoy so much that I don't think I'd possibly be able to trade for something I like more. Parabola, Sucaba and BCBS come to mind. They're widely available enough that the trade value just isn't high enough to be worth giving them up IMO.

As far as rarer releases go, Hill Farmstead Birth of Tragedy. It might be my favorite beer of all time. I really doubt I would trade any of my bottle.

I'll help some one with Lawson's Double Sunshine if they've been really wanting it (occasionally) but it's so hard to get with low limits that I generally keep it for myself.

B1 Peche and Brett. It was lucky enough to get 2 bottles, and the first one was so good. I saw some really tempting offers for long time wants in the last year before the second release, but I really want to see what the beer becomes. Also my bottle of the 2010 batch of Rogue's Charlie 1981. One of my favorite strong ales. There were only 12 bottles made. The rest was kegged. More sentimental then anything else. At the same time it's not like it's a beer on anyones ISO. So I guess it's not really a worry for trading.
